Anyway the CAD he posted looked a lot like VD5.0 (http://www.buildersdb.com/botpics/905.jpg) except less organic.

I wonder if he ever got it beyond the vapor bot stage.

And forgive me, but that body casing looks like the differential off a 4x4 or something! No offense meant, but is that what it actually is?

I'm not sure what's inside VD 5.0 or what it's made of; the Team Think Tank site is under reconstruction at the moment. It's a tough bot though. You might try Googling... I didn't have much luck finding any info but maybe you can.
