Title: Best starter kits/where to start?
Post by: Milon9 on July 19, 2009, 07:47:00 PM
hey, i've been interested in combat bots for a long time and always wanted to make one but never had any idea where to start or what to buy, so now ive been looking around at antweights and i think its the best place for me to start.

Was wondering if anyone knows a really good starter kit which has everything i need to make a small rc bot which resembles an antweight and im looking to spend under £100. Thanks in advance

Read up on your local rules and make sure you understand them. Take time to read the events forum if they have one and get an idea what current building techniques are. Search for answers to your questions before asking them. Use decent grammar when posting any remaining questions.

I'm actually on that site pricing parts, I need to know whether or not these I have selected are compatible with one another and if they are the minimal items ill need to make something that moves;

My team are currently working with the Advanced Antweight so I'm suggesting that because the copals work well.

You have the right idea, but you simply have no clue what to use. Buy a battlebots custom series toy, and make it into a bot. You could use this as well:

for starters what kind of bot do you want to build wedge or weapon? and i wouldn't recommend using Tamiya gear boxes, i've played with them before and there not really combat worthy. the gws controllers are good though cheap to
