Help building a LW UK robot?
« on: December 04, 2010, 03:18:16 PM »
Hey. I'm gonna be building a LW UK robot soon, and I need some helping. I've only wielded a welder once, and don't have hardly any programming knowledge, so I could do with quite a bit of help.

Doesn't need any programing unless you're going high tech.

LW is practically never used in the UK, build a FW. FW will be cheaper and there are many of them.

My best advice. Talk to builders and attend a live event. See if you can get in the pits and see robots up close ask questions about what the bots are made of what they use for drive motors, batteries, ect.

If you don't already know how to weld, it is much easier to use screws to hold your bot together.  Most competitive designs nowadays do that anyways.
