If I peaked then what happened to you guys
People started to lose motivation. I had a semi decent replica pack for DSL.
"Semi decent"

Decent implies 50% quality. Semi decent being well, semi, the quality drops to 25%.

Verdict/tl;dr: sucky pack.

Edit: you are LRA2 II. You post so many useless posts, you’re indistinguishable.

End game is 9/10. The disc is a bit off, but nothing you can do. You can’t make an STD in ra2.

I don’t like Hyperborean, but only because I hate Mecha Rampage. 7/10 because this is better than the real thing.

I'm not too fussed about this idea. If the forums were much larger in terms of user count they were than yes, having the idea of clans can work for tournament wise. But this forum isn't like Xbox live or something on the lines of that, this is just a small forum board that's tucked away from the rest of the internet and setting up clans will just have little purpose for such a small active user count, unless anyone is willing to engage in petty clan warfare against other users. So, if you want to have clans or something, maybe start a tournament that uses a team based format like Light vs Dark or Britbongs vs Amerifats. Instead of making the forums possibly more divided over clan rivalry than anything else.
I don't see the issue. It doesn't have to be 100 people in a clan
You're not seeing the point. Even if this isn't a large scale forum that have over 100 different, active users a day all in one clan. It still feels like it's pointless to start up proper clans for alliances between users, which lead onto nothing more than just large divides between one and other. All because that your in this clan and someone else isn't part of this, unless action is done to keep control.

Unless you do like the idea of starting clan warfare, then how about you read through my previous post and set up a team base tournament like the examples I put down. Your clan idea isn't bad overall, but I do feel about this needing some control before more divides and minor flaming does show up between multiple users.
I think clan battles and competitions are a good thing

Superbot, let’s do this. Let’s make a poll!
What am i making a poll for

If people want to do clans

Could this be an idea of superbot I actually like :O
Seriously I actually think this is really interesting even if it's a weird concept but it could be interesting. Maybe have  it so it only appears during a certain period of time so it can be like a yearly thing. I dunno maybe I'm the being stupid here

Ditto.

How are invertible ring spinners irl?

1. There is no ring component.

2. The discs would unrealistically phase through the drive motors.

Discussion / Re: The problem with competitive IRL in RA2
« on: July 04, 2018, 08:29:24 AM »
You're absolutely right that IRL bots suck at fighting compared to DSL-S bots (or at least they should if people are actually sticking to what IRL is all about: making sh** that looks cool), but to say they can't provide entertaining fights is wrong IMO.

When they're fighting other IRL bots they can provide some great fights. I think a good analogy would be something like IRL is your regular run of the mill car while DSL-S bots are like a Formula 1 car. If you put them against each other the racing/fighting will be sh** because the DSL-S bot/F1 car completely outclasses the other, but as long as you only fight/race against cars/bots of the same type they both provide great spectacles.

I don't really see how subjectivity is an issue as long as folks are aware that it is inherently subjective. Every time I enter an IRL tournament I accept the possibility that my bot is gonna be rejected, or that the host's requirements for what is IRL are more lax than mine and that my bot will be wrecked. As long as all bots are held to the same standards then I really don't see the issue there.

This is also why I think the current effort to try to objectively balance components for an inherently subjective meta is, to be frank, dumb. People talk about nerfing the mech disc or typhoon teeth, or buffing bursts, but that doesn't work because as you say, everyone has a different definition of IRL. A far better solution is for hosts to just set rules based on what they think is IRL and for them to ACTUALLY ENFORCE those rules and reject sh** that doesn't follow them (which far too many hosts seem to be sh** scared of doing ATM) and for people entering said tournaments to simply build to the rules of said tournament.

I absolutely agree with what (I think) is the crux of this post though which is (I think) that if you're concerned about winning and you want to build efficient sh** you should be playing DSL-S rather than trying to crowbar 16 typhoon teeth onto an IRL bot and bank on hosts' refusal to reject sh** to win tournaments.

I kill dsl s bots all the time with gyroscope blade, Cw-The matrix Hammerblade Revamped, Unintentional Tombklone.

Right. Here's my personal conclusion:

There's two conflicting schools of thought here - the DSL-S builder, and the DSL-IRL builder. There'd be too much upkeep involved in having both meta's be their own separate mod packs. DSL-IRL originally started off as a spinoff of DSL-S, but has reached a point now where it dwarfs it by a factor of 5. Therefore, to keep the most users satisfied, it would be best to steer DSL as a mod in the direction of IRL. Yes, this will completely, radically change what we know as DSL-S - but, for the sake of keeping 'em happy... It's what's needed.

Separate mod.

You could make the flatmotor non-cb2, if you made the power really low. Never used it, but this would make it like real brushless motors.

The hs is a bit ugly, but a very good experiment on horizontal drums. 8/10.

The vs is sleek, and looks deadly. Can’t really improve on this. 10/10
