As someone who made a wooden robot, I can vouch for them not doing well. Also as someone who is currently building a FW with a linear actuator as the weapon motor I'd say they're pretty bulky and limited. I wouldn't say they're too expensive for what you get though (Mine was £60)Remember you can get hardox waterjet for surprisingly cheap if you're in the UK. That's a strong front wedge right there.

Very good opening episode. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It still annoys me when people try to extend the fight though by righting an immobilised robot though. Take the win, damn it!

It'll be interesting to see who the Founder's Award gets given to this year. Chomp got it last year because of literally everything about it, but for me this year there isn't really a standout.

Jessica Chobot is the post fight interviewer.
The judging panel is a rotating selection of three from episode to episode, including:
- Mark Setrakian
- Derek Young
- Lisa Winter
- Grant Imahara
- Alison Haislip
- Bobak Ferdowsi
- Simone Giertz
- Naomi Kyle
- Possibly more.
Glad Chris and Kenny are back really good imo
At least one of the awards (Most Destructive) given out is decided by the judges. It'll be interesting to see how that works out with no set judge there.

I SHALL NOW PREDICT THE FUTURE BEFORE A SINGLE FIGHT HAS BEEN FOUGHT.Reality doesn't do as well as it should, only reaching top 16.
Vanquish's first 4 matches will be:
1) Battle Royale with Cheese
2) Bronco
3) Kraken or Overhaul
4) Lockjaw or Monsoon
Vanquish makes top 16.
Red Devil goes out before top 16 due to having a completely different team and it being a bloody complicated robot, thus showing it's not just the robot, but the team behind it. (They're with Team All Black this time who had Lycan last season) Top 16:

Gigabyte is the main push this season, like how Warhead was season 1.
 Everyones brackets? Completely broken. Gigabyte wins Most Destructive Founder's Award will go to someone for sportsmanship reasons this time around. Best design? I've got no idea. I'm not a mind reader.

They should just load when you click on the links, you should see a screen like this, then an advert if you're not using an adblocker, and then it'll play. My recommendation is to not press anything, ignore the thing in the bottom right on the advert that looks like a skip button and disregard the red popup near the playback bar if one appears.

You've got it a bit wrong. It's more akin to the UK FW Champs format where every robot fights a few times (Probably about 3) and then the top 16 are determined and are placed into the bracket.
The "UFC Fight Night" thing is more referring to the idea of each episode being comprised of lots of undercard matches and then a "Main Event" match in the first half of the competition, rather than there being a clear progression of "This robot won, he moves onto top 8" or whatever.

the rules seem a bit inconsitend to me. Pulsar vs Ironside 3 in the head to head looked like a simmilar situation ass PP3D vs Cherub. But this time both bots got 2 points. I can see why they did that but it doesn't seem right. In this case they could have given 2 points to Behemoth and Cherub in the fight with the Arenaflipper incident too
The difference was the flipper incident has clear cut rules in place and they acted immediately to rectify it. This particular error with the timer was unprecedented and Ironside had no way to communicate it during the match. I feel the most fair decision would have been a rematch. But tacking on another fight would have been awkward for many reasons including repair and episode time. Awarding both teams 2 points was the only thing they could have done while being fair and not completely butchering the schedule. Going forward, I think they need to separate the referee and judge roles in a way similar to Battlebots. I know that this was a technical error and the judges weren't to know at the time, but I think it would be better for allowing the judges to judge the match.

Worst episode so far, which is a shame because there were lots of great robots this episode. I'm not sure how the producers didn't realise that when you put the four biggest spinners of the series in the same heat, they'll all maim each other early on and spend the rest of the episode limping about. These heat lineups aren't random, so they chose poorly.
Thor is currently my favourite for wildcard, because Pulsar seemed to be running very low on spares near the end, I doubt it could survive another episode. Thor or Cherub. One of them.
