We want to congratulate 090901 and Geice on being promoted to the positions of Global Moderators of GameTechMods.

Thank you for your past support and your upcoming support. It can often be a thankless but very needed job in keeping GTM working smoothly.

You are welcome to say keep them all or if you vote out a team you can post what you feel is wrong or inadequate about the team.

Any teams we do remove will make room for that many more new teams from the current RA2 community (Diverse, Effective, Creative).

We are at 36 current teams and I am setting a max of 45 teams for the pack which will take us to 270 diverse Stock bots.

Thyrus has asked to step down at this time due to life changes. He still loves robotics and RA2. As things change we may see him again.

We want to give Thyrus a warm thank you for his support of GTM as a Global Moderator.

On Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017 Starcore saw a gap in administration and maintenance of GTM. He checked the last logged dates of the Admin group and made a command decision to promote Mr. AS to assist in managing GTM. Mr. AS was very enthusiastic and in doing cleanups over did it. GTM staff members saw what was going on and contacted Trovaner. Not knowing the details of Starcore's action and wanting to pause Mr. AS's actions until they knew more, they locked down the site. It was resolved and GTM was promptly brought back up. Mr. AS is back to his prior status. No rancor occurred. All involved acted from their own views to help and improve GTM.

Modifications / Starcore AI Pack 4.0 Reboot

>>> You can be involved in updating and tuning the Starcore AI v4.0 pack to current Stock standards. <<<

It has been about 8 to 10 years since I was last actively involved in RA2 (amazing that it has been that long) and I am trying to see how much interest there is in my finishing Starcore v4 Alpha2 into a completed release.

That would include additional quality teams as there are new ideas to show off and updates to the UI, splash screen, botlab and the like to make it more fun. (That could be you)

I am reaching out to everyone to see if people would like to see something like that happen and who would be willing to be involved in helping, adding, testing and tuning.

My time is limited but I do recognize this is a loose thread in my life and that it would be fun for people for us to pull together favorite Stock bots, UI features, maps, botlab, etc from over the last decade plus.

Also, for Starcore v4 is there any bots or teams you feel are not effective enough to help teach RA2 techniques and bot combat and need to be dumped?

Across 210+ bots I am sure there are some lemons by today's standards. While it is nice to be the toughest bot pack around the key goal was and is to teach by example(s).

Separately I realize that DSL has grown in scope and range to keep RA2 interesting and fun. As a Founding Father of DSL that makes me very proud and happy. So I don't know if there is a need to update a Stock RA2 pack in today's world. ,

What do you think?

Modifications / Starcore v4 Revival & Completion

Yes I want to get the Starcore v4 Pack out the door and into your hot hands!

I stopped working on the Starcore v4 Pack a little over a year ago due to a range of issues ranging from personal health issues (I have Diabetes and it gets worse at times), family issues (my wife was diagnosed last year with MS), having to focus on keeping my job during layers of layoffs and I admit I lost some faith that people wanted it when I saw the Stock tournys failing and an understandable shift to DSL activities.

I think many would still like the Starcore V4 pack released.

To make that happen I have gotten RA2 installed and patched on my current home and work PCs. I have resurrected the Starcore V4 Alpha 2 pack and found various parts of my additional work and I am tracking down emails and submissions people have sent.

I am going pull together what I had near done for an Alpha 3 with some additional teams.

I will need your help to review what is wrong with the current Starcore V4 Alpha 2 and will need testers for Starcore V4 Alpha 3 when it comes out.

I will need discussions here of what new bots and designs should be worked into the mix. (Like I recall working on new versions of Overhead Hammer bots  HW-Jabberwocky and MW-Bandersnatch and bots like Slaying Mantis look promising) and which ones still need changing.

I have seen other BOTM submissions that may be excellent additions to the pack if people would like to see it happen.

What do you all think? I am not wanting to give people false hopes but with help and support this might just happen.

Anyone out there want this?

Willing to help? (Splash Art, Music, Arenas, Bonus Features, New bots replacements or teams, Testers)

Real Robotics Discussion / i-SOBOT Awesome Humanoid Robot

Originally sold for $299. Dropped to $179.99, then dropped in price a few times over the last year because most of the world can't handle anything more complex then an iPod.

Now available for $90 through Amazon.com!

What is it?

http://www.isobotrobot.com/

I just got mine as an after Christmas present and I love it, it's an awesome bot! Don't let him near your Battle Bots or they will crush him. He only stand 6.5 inches tall with 17 articulated servos and over 200 voice phrases. He is a fine high quality robot with a great RC mode, Voice Mode and you can program a series of complex actions from karate chops and kicks to push-ups and hand stands. He speaks and had tons of preprogrammed action sets.

I highly recommend grabbing one before the economy causes him to disappear.
