*insert cool logo here* Well, at last, after 4/5 years of hesitation by my Dad and I, we are at the stage where we have parts to build a robot, but have absolutely no idea how to. The name comes from the time we went to haven in 2007, to Roaming Robots, and for each of the four days, we brought a picnic to the front table. We sat next to a family who would later become Team Toon, and they remembered us five years down the line as 'The Picnickers', so quite a good name to go by. The pile of parts is in this next link: https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/895982012-11-17 20.42.14.jpg Or, a large picture (1840 X 3264) in here: We have no design yet, but the main plan is three or four spikes on the front, armored in breadboards, with the front panel being one sheet of 1.5cm thick plywood sandwiched between two 1.5mm sheets of steel, with the spikes attached to the back sheet of steel, braced by a bar. (btw, this description will be replaced by one of my (shoddy) drawings soon.)

Starting up robot arena 2 works fine, but whenever i try to enter the botlab, exhibition, multiplayer, or anything else that requires me to click on something, it doesn't work. The problem appeared after my rubbish mouse decided to triple click on the RA2 icon, and brought up 2 RA2's. The one that started up last was fine, so i closed it so i only had one open. Then, i couldn't click inside the window of RA2. I couldn't even quit. I decided to build in DSL instead, but the problem appeared there, even though i only opened one window again. After a restart, it still doesn't work. Computer specs (copied from my computer/properties):
Intel(r) Core(TM) i5 CPU 660 @ 3.33GHz 3.33 GHz, 3.42 GB of RAM Physical Address Extension
Any help?

Un-Generic-ness
Signups are CLOSED.
Just a stock LW tournament, rules are: NO HS'S, POPUPS OR CRAWLERS. DSL Tourney Arena (:P) 8 bot bracket, Losers bracket too. Wildcard bracket, depending on intrest again. The only use for a Z-Tech/HP Z-Tech Is a weapon motor (if you can find a way, that is). Your bot either: Must use a 140cm extender OR Must be built off a snapper. (you can do both if you want) I will not be entering. It would be best if you AI'd, although i can if the need is high (BTW it will be copy/paste another bot's bindings). You may make a splash for me to display as your bot's main splash, if you don't supply one I will make the splash Brackets and vids will be updated every day/two days.

Well, i think i've been working on it long enough to show it... so; BUBBLEBOTS AI IS HERE! Intended to bridge the gap between stock and starcore 3. I used the stock chassis, and built to around 3/5 of my capability. Bots are built to use the same ai, except Ronin, who is now a flipper because i didn't know what else to do with him. I need around 5 beta testers, ideally ones who can ai, because I have a little problem with the bindings/names. If you're fighting against the ai, build to half your capabilities, as this is intended for newbies. New music as well! UI Screenshots: Comment on how generic this is on what you would like to see here!

Well, my ban's expired, so i think it's: Tourneh Time!

First, let me say it was all my fault. The tournament i ran failed, and it's my fault. I never come on, and its all mostly my fault (schools fault too for giving me homework :P) I can not ai, and build good 'bots, and its because ^^^. I should have not started the tournament in the first place; OR i should have finished it when i had time, about 4 months ago. Could I make a public apology, and hope you will all forgive me for the crap i did (but don't lift the tourney ban, i won't have time for 180 days anyway!) And i hope this never happens again.

AI battle in the Challenge Arena
DSL 2.1
and he agreed, and built his robot. we will be sending it to sage soon for an ai battle.

ITS HERE! THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! COMBAT CLUSTER BOTS 1!!!!! Sorry it's so late, i have been through a lot lately. Vertigo -----------------l J24 l Vertigo l--------------l 090901 l G.K l -----------------l l G.K. l l Viper98 l -----------------l l l SKBT l l-------------------l WINNER l--------------l l------------------- Naryar l l-------------------l -----------------l l l Craaig l l NFX&S_M l -----------------l l TX&Fotepx l NFX&S_M l l--------------l Bubbles l -----------------l Badnik& Wafflez
J24 V Vertigo:
090901 V G.K.:
NFX&S_M V TX&FOTEPX:
Bubbleman V Wafflez&Badnik:
Vertigo's predictions: J24: Bad weapon sepupon the rammer, & not enough weapons on the juggler. SFTW team IMO, sorry J24 090901: First looks very stable & well built, but the second looks quite fragile GK: Sheck spinner is nasty, but the flipper would still be beaten by Mini Bulldozer ;P Viper: LOL, can't wait to see Nary's reaction. Bots can't be very effective though SKBT: Both look well built, second the better of the two Naryar: Definatly one of the better entries Craaig: Looks powerful, will be game over if a bot gets to the motors though NFX: Expected something better TBH, needs atleast 30kg hammers. Though I may be proved wrong... SM: Good bot TX: Not bad, but I won't judge this untill I see this working FOTEPX: Too fast, too fragile Bubbleman: Great rammer, but this is reliant on wedges, I hope their up to it. HS looks powerful, but something will get to that tribar... Badnik: Too fragile, not enough weapons Wafflez: Not great, SFTW entry IMO. Sorry wafflez Me: Should get past the first round unless I get a really bad draw, could do quite well in this if I get the right draw *Hopes*
Naryar's Predictions: Vertigo: Both look good, but their success will depend on wedges. Can win this. J24: Fail juggler and bad rammer. Fodder for most other bots. Not the worst though. 090901: Chop Suey looks OK but the other one... unfortunately i don't think this will fair well. GK: If the wedge is good then Enigma is going to own, but it doesn't look it has rear stabilizers. I don't know the effectiveness of flail killalot drills though. Can fair well also. SKBT: SawBlaze is one HELL of a Ripblade IV clone and the other one looks good. My bot: Doomkiller's Wet Dream faired pretty well in testing (beat Pwn's and 123's popups) but I am unsure about how good is my wedge compared to the others. Craaig: OK bot, but it's a VS and will get KO'd by a good wedge at one point. NFX: It does look pretty weak. Won't fair well IMO. S_M: Standard true popup. Depends on how good the wedge is. TX: Not bad for a noob... It might be too fast though FOTEPX: VS like these are a complete BITCH to make stable. Plus the bot's speed might actually turn against it. It's well built, but i doubt it's true combat effectiveness. Bubbleman: The HS is okay, but these kind of designs aren't really efficient in tournaments. The rammer... well, depends on wedges. Badnik: That has to be an entry for the lulz... I bet it will fail horribly, but has the potential to make something lulzy. Will see. wafflez: Robot fodder really. SFTW award goes to this. Probable worst team.

Combat Clusters 1 will be a tournament dedicated to cluster bots. In order to not get it confused with Clash Cubes call it CCB1. the class is dsl heavyweight. both bot's weight must add up to 800kg or less. Format is head to head matches, winner moves on to the semi's, then the winner of that goes to the finals. Bracket in picture is: No glitches allowed. you can team up with somebody. Prizes are: A motor pack, souped up. no new motors, just the copal, astroflight, piglet and mini motor made from a static axle. more touque and maxspeed. a souped up wheel pack, with better grip than any other wheel and more resistance. the ant wheels, rubber wheel and tornado wheel are in this pack. An Awsomesauce battery, made from the ant battery. a better bsg, more speed and tourque. some weapons, including the killdozer plough, the dark scoop, and BFFF flamethrower. better hitpoints and fracture for all, more p&c for the killdozer, and less co2 consumption for the BFFF. an extender pack with better tribar and steel extender. more hitpoints and higher fracture. less weight for all of the above prizes. all real stats are kept confidential, so if you like the sound of one, you can try your luck on the stats. Winning prizes: 2 prizes of your choice for: Winning the tourney. 1 prize of your choice for: runner up. Consolation prize because i'm nice. Scoring: 2 points for a win, 0 points for a loss, 5 points for a complete win (e.g. you take no damage what-so-ever or your opponent gets no points). You win if you knock out an opponent, or the opponent gets counted out. if it gets flipped out the match restarts, happens again in the same round it goes down to points. Bots can be skinned, that's the only thing you can do out side of the botlab. 16 teams so get building, you can AI yourself or let my volunteer 090901 do it. Keep in mind i have requested that the AI'ing by 090901 be average. It will be run in Nar Ai 2.2, with no cheat parts alloud but darkrat parts that come with the game are alloud(exept the hover engines or the scythe). Arena is the dsl tournament arena. if a bot is stuck on a component, it gets unlimited free restarts. if a bot havoks it gets A free restart, and if it havoks twice, it is disqualified. please, no s'n'ses because they are boring. i want something fun and entertaining (sorry Somebody) People entering ( Red if you said you would enter/team up with someone and i have your bot, Green if i have your bot and have accepted it, Brown if i have your ai as well as your bot, Purple if everything is ok and you are ready to compete, Black if something is wrong Note: You are not entered untill i have your bot; you can say you are going to enter but you can not enter untill i have your bot): Entrants: 1:Craaig 2:G.K. 3:Bubbleman 4:090901 5:Badnik96 waffelz2damax 6:Viper89 7:NFX Squirrel monkey 8:Naryar 9:SKBT 10TeamXtreemer Fotepx 11:j24 12:VertigoDeadline is august 8th at 11:59PM GTM time. the robots in will be the robots competing. also, to earn prizes, you can cash in points. yes, they dont mean anything. after the tourney, the prizes for the champion cost 25% more than they usually do. all prizes are 20 points, and, if you bought them, it's not the same as winning them, you still have to win them to be able to use them in future tourneys i may run. Send with ai, bindings line, and bot in a .zip file, if you are ai'ing yourself, just the .bot file if not. Have fun building!
