http://worldcombotchampionship.com/World Combot Championship is a brand new North America combat robot event. What is a combat robot? Did you ever see Robot Wars or Battlebots on TV? Well thats a combat robot, or combot for short.
Since then the sport has evolved, the machines are bigger and more powerful than ever and the combots had been competing at two San Fransico based events, Robogames and Combots Cup. The events brought in upwards of 10,000 people over a weekend and had a one hour Science Channel special called Killer Robots: Robogames 2011 hosted by Mythbusters Grant Imahara.
In April 2013, after 10 amazing years, both Robogames and Combots Cup retired, leaving combots all across North America without a main stage to compete on. World Combot Championship aims to fill that gap and expand upon it.
The combots competing within our event can drive upwards of 20mph, throw things 10 feet high and can cut through steel like butter, oh and they weigh 220lbs!
You may be wondering who does this and it really is anybody from kids to families to co-workers to professionals. Thanks to its educational and design benefits it has a broad reach.
Did we mention we are bringing back house robots…
fund them at indiegogo.com http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/world-combot-championship

We've had a lot of good general robotics and robot combat discussion in the General Chatter thread but that always seems to die out and get sidetracked or lost in all the other random stuff that goes on in that thread. So I have created a General Chatter thread for robotics/robot stuff. Also have a link about Complete Control... http://www.coroflot.com/derek_young/Battlebots-1998-2003

I'm having xbox issues
I'm trying to get a movie off of it onto my computer.
1. I put an empty 1.8g usb drive in my xbox. 2. I go to the storage configuration menu on the xbox. 3. I configure it for the xbox then it says that the amount of available space is 1.3g.
any way around this?
can I hook directly link my computer to xbox or would it try to configure my computer and brick it?

Do not go to Explosm (Dot) net I was browsing around on it minding my own business when suddenly a java script activated and downloaded "win 7 antivirus 2012". This is not a real anti virus program. It will completely trash your computer. It's really nasty Here's a video that saved my computer (and butt) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yuyd_YZX8o&feature=youtube_gdata_player#wsI just got done fixing my computer at 1am.

Yes it's the battle of the seemingly random 4 letter usernames.
1. Combat Arena Hazards off 2. IRL realistic DSL MW 3. RFL style Damage/Aggression judging 6pts for damage and 5pts for aggression. We will both judge the match and would like it if the tourney host also submits a score so we will have three scores 4. No aam bfe hax ect 5. Best out of three
Freez will host and judge the matches.

Yes I started one. It's primary focus will be my adventures in robot combat. I'll try to update it regularly when I'm building something. Here's the link (its also in my sig)

My brother was playing DSL today and wanted to use the Wheely Big Cheese wheel as a weapon because it was spikey. He promptly discovered that it did no damage. Now before I go and mess around with the txt file for it I have a couple of questions...
1.Can a rubber based component do damage when given the proper lines in the file? (piercing and concussion)
2.Will adding the "piercing and concussion" lines interfere with the "grip"
