Discussion / Seriously need some help with exporting
« on: April 28, 2015, 02:02:31 PM »
Hello fellow nerds,

I'm sorry if I bring the same issue up in a new post - if someone finds this offensive or annoying feel free to delete this but I'm in desperate need for answers!

So basically I can't save/export my robot since the install folder lies in Program Files (x86). I made a copy of the folder and put it on the desktop and exported HW - Tunnelrat (the Rookies' robot) and later looked in the Robot Designs folder within the install folder and found the saved robot. Therefore I assume that if I would've installed Ironforge on the desktop this wouldn't be a problem. But since I'm in this situation - what should I do? Anyone else has been in this situation?

I don't want to risk losing my robot so I don't want to make things that can reset the files in my install folder...

Please help me with this issue! I want to be able to save and share my robot!

Thanks,

b0w7ie

Anyone heard something about Robot Wars? Never watched Battlebots and dunno if I will, it doesn't feel right... Robot Wars has always been the original and real deal for me!

I tried doing the things you said but still no robot shows in my folder...

Has it got anything to do with where you have your Ironforge folder? Someone said said something about moving it to desktop, it's just that I don't want to risk getting my robot deleted... What should I do?

Hey,

I noticed that you can't save/export your robots in Ironforge. I've been doing some research and found out that you need a real copy of RA2 to be able to save your files. But since Ironforge comes as a standalone it's not possible to have a real copy of it. So my question is; how do you export/save your robots in Ironforge?

Are all these robots built in DSL or Ironforge? Or don't you have specific rules for the BOTM?

It feels like everyone is quite centered and convinced that Ironforge is the best of the "three games"? I always felt that DSL was the sh** to play here but I think that Ironforge is my call :) thanks once again for quick, detailed response!

Much love

Discussion / Why I should play Ironforge or DSL instead of stock
« on: April 16, 2015, 04:55:38 PM »
Hello guys!

Can someone please tell me the pros and cons with Ironforge, DSL and stock; tell me (I'd love if you'd be detailed) why I should play the specific mod and why it is better than the others; and what's the most fun in the long run? I've tried them all and I fell for stock since it feels like the most "real" but I also feel it's a bit limited so I wonder if I'd enjoy DSL or IF more... DSL is nice because of the influences of Robot Wars and the new stuff, but if I remember correctly I believe that IF is more realistic and has sort of the same stuff as DSL and I do enjoy the realism apart from stock's many bugs and hacks that wouldn't actually work in real life.

Please tell me a bit more about the different mods if you have the time :)

686KB, jpg picture... I've tried adding it by uploading and URL but nothing works. If I try uploading it says it's too big or not an avatar and when I upload through URL it works but then my picture doesn't show...

This is amazing. My friend and I are planning on building robots on our own to fight eachother. It's been a dream since we were five and watched Robot Wars. Our plan is to start with SumoBots and work our way up to the bigger robots. Though we don't have that much money or time so we probably won't be able to build RW-robots in a near future...
