I get on average 200-800 views per Banter Wars episode, and from it I get people asking where to find the game and how to build robots for the first time. I like to think that what I do is helping this community by getting new people interested in the game. And you don't want to take part in that because apparantly I use "the least balanced mod"? Loosen up and have some fun with a game, for blimey out loud! ![]() Anyway, since 2.5 is an extension of Banter Wars Series 2, your robot will be making an appearance. You'll have a chance for revenge on Facetious Goose. Hope you don't mind! ![]() Adam 3

In effect, you came into our house with a game of Cluedo trying to play your own house rules and we play standard. Thanks Craaig, apology accepted. I won't pretend that Banter Wars hasn't suffered a decline in reputation over this, but it's taught me a lesson. Things will change as a result of this, for the better. I just hope that those people who instantly accused the show of being deceptive come around and realise that I had no intention of sabotaging robots or altering robots without peoples' permission. Maybe then I can get more GTMers on the show, and I will know how to handle the robots given to me. Let's crack on with robot stuff and come together like hippies around an endangered tree. 5

Thanks YuGiTom.
Since this is my series and my thread, I feel that I can address that one thing you said as a last word: I, AHOG, am the creator, and it is me who decides whether my project is serious. Not you. GTMers were allowed to enter because I thought you might enjoy it. You can't expect to control how serious my project is, though. A guest does not come into a household and demand what colour the walls in the bathroom should be. You're being possessive of the game because you think you have more right to what it produces than anybody else. The level of arrogance I've witnessed here has stunned me, and to tell ME, the person who created this project, how serious it should be taken, is just plain rudeness and displays a deep self-entitlement. Okay, now I'm done. If anybody has any further issues, could we take it to PMs? 6

There's a fundamental difference or two between Banter Wars and Robot Wars. You're clever enough to figure them out yourself. Does nobody understand me, or do I have to keep repeating myself? I'll say it again... It was a mistake! I've apologised! And I've uploaded rematches with the unedited robot! What more do you want from me? 9
Tournament Archives / Re: Banter Wars Series 2!« on: October 15, 2016, 10:19:14 AM »I for one was interested in entering this series in the future but this incident, combined with the quite pathetic reaction means I never will... Pathetic reaction? I can't control what fans of the show say, but my reaction has been as follows: Investigate what went wrong, explain what went wrong, apologise on multiple occasions, and upload a rematch with the corrected robot. Please, tell me how my reaction was pathetic? What would you do in this situation? Or are you just taking the reactions of fans and putting that on me as the creator? The fans have a right to criticise the backlash, because it's utterly mad! The overreaction has been crazy. It could have been settled with a PM and an apology from me, but the roboteer in question chose instead to come onto this forum and lie about my intentions. Now all his chums - including yourself - have jumped on the drama bandwagon and built a minor mistake into the 2016 robot holocaust. Calm down. It was a mistake that I've apologised and made amends for. It was never going to be perfect. 10

Okay. To set things straight, I'm about to record the Heat F battles that Boomslang was in again. The battles will go up as a side competition. Hopefully, assuming my internet likes me, it should go up later today.
Boomslang will be its purest, unedited version so it will be fighting at full strength, starting with the first round battle against Sypder. I hope this makes up for the errors that were made. I had no intention of these mistakes happening and I'll make sure they don't happen again in the future. 11
Tournament Archives / Re: Banter Wars Series 2!« on: October 14, 2016, 03:40:09 PM »I'm fairly certain badnik could not give less of a sh** about if he won banter wars or not. Editing someone's robot without their consent then displaying that robot in your tournament in its sh**tified state is incredibly rude and dishonest, not least because it makes badnik look like a worse builder than he is. On top of all that, badnik explicitly asked if his robot was too powerful, and AHOG said that it wasn't and that it did not need editing. I did not intend to edit his robot without consent. I made an error somewhere! It was not deliberate. His robot got to the Heat Final and beat the Heat favourite... That's a pretty good performance to me! Plus, most of my audience have never heard of RA2, mor do they even care if Badnik makes a good robot or not. Maybe this was my mistake: When I took in robots, I would put it through initial testing and come to a decision from that. Instead of telling THEM to edit the robot, I offered to do it for them with their permission. In hindsight, maybe that wasn't the best idea. I don't know you people, and there were times where I got peoples' names and robots mixed up. Obviously, Boomslang got mixed up with something, somehow, and the ovesight occurred. If one of you did a project as big as this one in the future, I'll make sure to harrass you for any mistake you make and try to ruin the whole project. How does that sound? 12
Tournament Archives / Re: Banter Wars Series 2!« on: October 14, 2016, 03:29:47 PM »
Let me make this clear:
The mistake was an oversight on my part, not a deliberate attempt to rig the competition. I made a point to contact people when editing their robots. If you ask other creators, they will confirm this. However, something obviously went wrong somewhere in one of my production sprees and Badnik wasn't contacted. I apologise for that, but I can't chang that now. The robot was still functional and actually beat the heat favourite and got through to the heat final. In testing it did extraordinarily well and destroyed most of the competition. Nothing happened that made me suspicious. So when it came to filming the heat, I wasn't surprised when it made it through to the heat final. I was surprised when it died in the final, but by that point I was convinced that the robot was functional. Badnik made some observations, and due to that I went back over my files and noticed the mistakes. This is by no means that worst mistake either. Spunkly and Rex Tano had their robots swapped and I didn't realise until late on when Rex Tano sent me his intro wondering why his robot was a Pikachu head. Did he complain about rigging? No. He sees the show as what it is: My hobby, which I've decided to put up for people to see. So, please, don't take my mistake and try to turn people against this show. I've worked my ass off for nine months creating this and I'd hate for it to die because somebody took it far too seriously. Thank you. 13
Tournament Archives / Re: Banter Wars Series 2!« on: September 09, 2016, 02:12:21 PM »Honestly man, the observer bot is really poorly done. In the 3rd fight you righted a bot that was out of the match. I understand the desire to prevent typical RA2 pushing matches, but the current solution is worse than just editing them out I feel. I'm sorry you feel that way! The robot was righted because the series is meant for entertainment, and the game was losing that. The whole point of the Observabot is to keep battles going at a reasonable pace (or try to, anyway!) I hope you enjoyed the episode despite the Observabot! 14

Afraid to say that I really disliked the final. I don't think Thor was a great wildcard, and it went on to be just dead weight in the head-to-heads, only because Pulsar decided to break down straight away...
I think the format needs changing. It ruined this grand final. 16

I'm still doing reviews! I tried Bot lab for the first time, making the same robot I made when I first reviewed RA2
I actually quite like the bot lab. However, I still find the gameplay underwhelming, even with the third update... |
