If that won't work then your game is messed. Something tells me that whenever you or Mean2u are playing, Im asleep because im in a different timezone. Probably because everyone always replies to my posts while Im asleep. 3
General Support / Multiplayer Problem« on: September 26, 2006, 07:23:26 PM »Quote from: Clickbeetle The incompatible program version comes from people who don't have the 1.2 patch. There's nothing stopping a DSL user from joining a stock game, but there might be problems when you try to use a bot  Are you sure? I went on multiplayer a few minutes ago and there were three games running, and it came up with the incompatible program version error every time for all three. I also checked and I definatley have RA2 1.2. 4

OK, in that case I only have one LAN Plugin. The socket is labeled Ethernet on my modem. Also there is a smaller cable going to the phone jack via a ADSL microfilter called the DSL cable, but I dont think that's relevant.
So as fas as I can see, my modem should work, if it only has one LAN socket... 5

My friend and I both went on RA2 Multiplayer at the same time and we both managed to see a game someone else had started (although I couldn't watch it due to incompatible program versions), but neither of us could see games that we had started. Is this what happens when you have a NAT or router?
I had a look at my network/broadband settings and found two numbers that looked like an IP adress. One was the IP adress, and the other was a Default Gateway. Is that a double IP? My IP was 192.168.1.2 and the Default Gateway one was 192.168.1.1 Looking Harder, I also have a DCHP server and a DNS server both with the adress 192.168.1.1 Does any of that point to a particular problem, and If so whats the solution? 7

Thanks a lot Click, ill try that.
EDIT: No use with the firewall, Robot Arena 2 has full access to the internet anyway, and it still didn't work when I disabled it completely. There is always the chance that whenever I go on (like 2 minutes ago) there are no people playing, but it's unlikely. A while ago, one game did appear, although an error came up when I tried to join saying incompatible program versions or something. Im guessing this is because they probably had the stock RA2 and I had DSL. Im astounded and slightly annoyed. Are there any other things apart from the firewall that could prevent me from viewing other people's games? If so, how do I fix it? Before you ask, I have switched it over from the LAN to the Internet. 8

This is either a strange problem or I have no idea how to work it.
When I go on multiplayer, and my friend goes on at the same time and starts an online game, it never shows up on my computer. When I started a game, it didn't show up on his computer. For info, I have DSL2 DL version. I have no idea how to make it work! The only way I can figure it is if I am behind a firewall. Does anyone know how I can get it to work! 12

My computer has been down for a few days (since Monday) but all my graphic problems were fixed when I was writing a tutorial for my friend on how to download RA2 and was checking that it actually worked.

I meant gib... I said later on in my post that it was a gib but made a mistake at the start.
So All I do is rename it skull1.gib and put it in the botlab folder? And to ewan, I can't remember how I fixed it, but I think I uploaded into a separate folder, copied and pasted them into UI, did something with the stock UI, and then did something with the DSL UI. Can't renember clearly though. Just remember to make a backup of your current UI. 14

Im Stupid, so what do I have to do to clear them up?
EDIT: I think I know how to fix it, you just copy the skull1.tga file into the botlab folder and rename it botlabwin.gmf, dont you? Problem is I can't change the file type. It's always a targa file, no matter what I put as the extension. It says that it's botlabwin.gib, but if you highlight it and go into properties it still says its a Targa file. Any hints on how to fix this? I could do it on my windows 98 computer, but my new XP won't let me. 15

Very odd. Then again, I had an Identical problem with DSL 1.2, so maybe its just a problem with my game. Ill have a look.
EDIT: Played around with the folders and got the graphics to work, although the menu butons at the top of the bot editor are out of focus. Is this happening to everyone or is it just me? 16

Didn't work for me click. Just crashed when I double-clicked on a team. Do you need do extract into a separate folder and copy/paste into UI?
I think that you're onto it though. Theres just probably a few more files that need to be swithched. Keep going, and thanks for the effort your'e putting in. The same goes for all of you who are helping with the DL graphics. 17
Discussion / How do I build custom AI Bots?« on: September 05, 2006, 02:45:11 PM »
I paid pretty close attention and it definatley came up with a 404 not found page with the weird textbox instead of the download confirmation screen... (the page after the licence agreement loads, saying you will be redirected shortly. After a few seconds the 404 pops up).

This is probably in the wrong section of the forums but oh well...
I wanted to make some of my own AI bots, but the only tutorial I can find is on RFSHQ and it doesn't work! Can someone help me out by giving me a link to a tutorial I can use? Please... 19
