General Support / Graphical Errors, Crashing.

All right, thanks guys. I need to do some digging and find my CD. I haven't seen it in a year but I'm sure it's around somewhere.

Thanks for the help, though!

Nope. I haven't downloaded anything yet.

The workshop seems to be the only thing I can't get to... competitions with the default bots work fine.

The graphics seem to be working smoothly now, but the game is still crashing when I try to enter the Workshop.

Hey guys. I've been a member here for a while, but I left sometime in '06.
I just recently downloaded RA2 (from here), and upon installing and running I notice it's full of graphical errors everywhere. (see attachments) I haven't installed any mods yet. The game crashes when I attempt to start building bots.

I'm running Vista with an NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 graphics card.

Is this a problem with my graphics card? The torrent? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Nope. That ought to be it, then?
So now just make a fresh copy of RA2, install the 1.2/1.3 patch, then DSL2.0?

Nothing new appears via the cheatbot2 code.

Also, there's only one component I'm sure crashes the game, and that's the flamethrower. The rest are blank images. But not all of the blank images, some of them work. And I've got no way of telling what components they are beforehand.

EDIT: Also, whatever is to the right of the Brushless Piglet Motor in the Motors section.

EDIT: The Nightmare Disc in the Extenders section. (I would have no use for that anyway, but for the heck of posting.)

EDIT: Whatever is to the right of whatever is to the right of the Brushless Piglet Motor in the motors section.

EDIT: All the motors between the Brushless Piglet and the little weak antweight motor.

EDIT: "Frenzystuff" in the Extras section.

EDIT: Whatever's to the right of Diablo's Drum in the weapons section

I'm really not interested in the AI Replica parts.. and they seem to be the ones crashing a lot. Any way to remove only the AI Replica parts?

They're components that were included in either the stock RA2 or DSL2, because those are the only two versions applied in my RA2 folder.

Worked Perfectly.
Now the only problems are a few components crashing the game when I click on them, but that's a problem I've faced for a while and I've gotten used to it.

Whenever I try to open dsl2.rar in WinRAR, it gives me the message
"!   dsl2.rar: Unexpected end of archive"
Then, when I open the file, there's only a UI folder and nothing else.

I'm using the CD version of RA2.

Also, is there anywhere with step-by-step instructions on installing DSL 2.0?

If you can't seem to make any nice textures, if you're like me, this site has a wonderful array of textures that look awesome on robots. I especilly like the wood.

I haven't used it very much in the past, but chances are, after reading this, I'll make at least one powered steering bot.

Lately I've been trying out different strengths and weaknesses.
But I mostly go for something new and different.
When that fails, power and strength take second.
