DSL is better than Stock, the stock version is pretty boring now to me. Stock lacks content and its just a pain to read charts to figure out how many batteries I need to make a bot work. Also, bots are too fragile in stock.

Loading him in the bot editor to adjust the controls = CRASH Loading him to fight against = CRASH I am obviously missing a part or two I think, where can I get some parts to fix this bot and make it all better or a fix to make him all better?

Yea, those are bots Alpha made years back, but never released them. Bogus, why the would he hide them from us? :~( Oh, I should have watched it, I didn't know they were all stockers vs. already made bots, I was hoping I could get that kicking rad Thor bot like in the game Robot Wars Extreme. Never mind it then, I don't care, anyone got some cool bots to download though? :3

Looked it up and alphasim released a whole bunch of RW bots a while ago and there are no links but he said he released it or something like that.

I doubt we'll ever get a perfect bot, every bot has a strength or weakness. Some bots are better built, but it comes down to a combo of driver skill, a little luck and building. Hell even Axe bots can be broad.

A taunting chip would be more than awesome. Like the Worms speech. And even more, with different types of speech, like the bravado ("You won't even scratch my armor!"), the knight ("Thou shalt not pass!")the n00b ("OMG u r cheating!"), the villain ("Welcome to Hell!"), etc...
I would be glad to help.. if i can.
EDIT: I found the taunting chip, but most of the taunts suck. Hard. That's why you replace the sound files with whatever you want. You could make a rammer for example and have it play a train horn sound as it comes at the enemy from a long charge.

I'm looking for all those old Battlebots and RW replicas, I'd like to try them out in DSL2 but they are not ALL there. I know there's more than I saw in the pack.

There should be a component where you can record your voice on the computer and make the bot say something when A certain thing happens, such as it saying "Ha Ha" when the bot is hit by the weapon. I'd punch my monitor if Nelson's Ha-Ha was added to a weapon blow. I would however like a taunting chip and I know its been made before. You could pretty much make it say whatever you want if you replace the correct wav. If you wish you could make a bot with a bamboo texture and replace one of the taunt wavs with 'That one'.

DSL only got permission to use 3 or 4 of the bots from the aceuplink pack. Permission to only use 3 or 4?! Well how do we get the rest of them unofficially? If it helps I'm a former Aceuplink admin and although I wasn't officially involved with the pack, I won't yell if you do it.

err yeah... completely copied off robot wars: arenas of destruction is it not? Why the not? A few generic fashion components would be great I think. Don't you want to have a clown's hooter go off on your bot every time you hit something with the hammer?

I'd like to have more extras in DSL such as sound chips and decorations. Possibly eyeballs and flags of multiple nationalities maybe some lights like those police beacon lights and industrial versions as well, multiple colors multiple fun. A horn would be nice too. Like a sound chip but external and with different sounds. All the decorations should be lightweight and weak because they are not armor, but dressing to add style.

I flip the car with my MW flipper. Farther. question...why doesnt it flip as well in game? A lot of flipping is about getting the right grip on a bot. You have all the time you need to get the perfect shot on a car, but an enemy is constantly moving so you can't hook up as perfectly. If it's not that though, then I don't know.

Well Ive been building a new bot for you all, its my CE type bot. DarkMater3 (named that due to a old stock bot.) https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/62212screenshot_276.JPG[/IMG]] It uses 5mm steel and NPC fasts. I built it to last. And about its power-
If the wheels aren't back further to protect them, then shorten the box portion of the wedge and bring the batteries into where the chip is located. Also, are you sure you are not overkilling it with battery power? To check just do some simple math with all the amps on the weapons and drives and that will tell you the amount of battery power you need to make it run.

DSL is easier to build in, but harder to fight in. The enemies are built much sturdier and the AI is more vicious. I love how Batteries and Motors all tell you their inputs and outputs so you know how much power you really need. (I used to just keep throwing batteries in until I felt like it was enough rather than having a guide that could tell me how much my motor really needs to function.)

P.S. Just to say it, the first one, Unibite was more of a replica of an old RA2 bot which was an inspired replica of a robot wars bot which I can no longer find a picture of.
P.P.S. Thanks Naryar for showing me the light on how to build bots on the wiki. I'm easily entering weight classes I thought impossible before. It's rather cool to build a bot first normally with a large chassis to figure out where everything works and how it should be built, then shrink it down, redo it and find I'm in another weight class.

Tight space on the first one? There is about 40% of empty space!
Second looks sweet, and the titanium is good, i agree with Sage on the fact that 10mm titanium is way too much and you should add more weapons, i thought that was a beetleweight.
This battery depletes very fast, that said. You shoudl perhaps use grippier wheels like Vladiator's.
You can still remove empty space by using these black and red baseplate extenders rather than anchors.
3mm Titanium should be enough.
personally i never used 1mm plastic excepted on perhaps one ant. the minimum for me is 1mm titanium. good armor. I could probably lower the armor signifigantly and have a beetleweight. I just decided to mount the maximum armor I could afford for my weight class after I was done fitting it. P.S. What's a good weapon to mount for a rammer?

Here's Swiss Knife, the first robot I built after learning to eliminate empty space. It features Heavy 10mm Titanium armor, two iron spikes and and two TWMR3 motors that make this block of swiss cheese hard to swallow and even harder to put additional holes into.

My first two pictures will be of an old bot that I just recreated which was based off of another design I saw called Unibite. This is a recreation of a bot I saw a picture of a few years ago and its entirely made out of how I remember building it, but using the DSL2 parts. It's a middle weight robot and it has the same empty space problems my designs always used to have before I learned empty space was evil.
So without further ado, here is Unibite: a recreation from memory of a bot built from stock parts years ago based on a bot from a photo. So its a replica of a memory of a replica.
Its blade also loves to snap off in mid battle and leave me an unarmed unwieldy looking machine after its loss.
