Droid Bionic on Verizon. I got grandfathered into unlimited 4G LTE right before they cut that off so for the next ~2 years I have that.

I keep trying to leave but let me tell you it doesn't work. I haven't had a decent idea for a bot in months though.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Inplabth's DSL Showcase« on: March 06, 2011, 09:47:32 PM »Looks like a pretty good concept, in my view. I'm wondering if it's to do with the lack of distance the razors travel before they hit the opponent that your hits are quite low. Perhaps Hypno Wheels would be a better choice, just for better control? Hypno wheels are actually too slow for use and it makes the wedges quite a bit worse. That's the first thing that I tried. I also had a longer design on the weapons, with the razors on beater bars at first, but it made the weapon too slow to be effective. I'll work on lengthening them a bit, maybe with a different extender setup, and I'll see how it performs. Maybe I'll give tornado wheels a shot. EDIT: Well, I tried my idea with the tornado wheels and the extra reach with the razors doesn't make up for the loss in speed. Then I tried vlads with the same effect. I experimented with a few different setups and none of them performed better. The longer reach gave a much higher potential damage with some hits passing 4000 points, but they were significantly less consistent and ended up averaging lower with a lot of hits only doing 200-300 points of damage. 6

Woo, I'm on a roll this weekend.
![]() Realism is questionable and it would have no problems if I had more precise control over the angle the axle was at. It has the potential for truly massive hits, but usually scores about 1000 points per hit. The wedges have been outstanding so far, and it is blazing fast but a bit uncontrollable in the turns. 9

Does having the disks spin actively with motors do any extra damage over putting them on axle mounts and letting them spin freely? Also, aren't the NPCFasts with techno wheels faster than the Etek drives?

Existing Games / Re: CIVILIZATION« on: March 06, 2011, 10:15:55 AM »
I enjoyed the Civilization series and even preordered Civ5. It's a nice relaxing game to play when I don't feel like panicking in SosE or being twitchy in MW2. Granted I haven't played it in a while because I've been playing a lot of Oblivion after the Skyrim announcements.
Also @ FOTEPX AoE and the Civ series are different genres. AoE is an RTS and Civ is turn based strategy. 11

What kind of mouse are you using and does it use the built-in drivers or did you have to download them online?

There we go. A couple of hours and I tightened up the chassis, almost doubled the weapons along with upgrading to razors instead of light DS teeth and even made a proper splash in about 2 minutes.

It's really inefficient with its weight right now. The chassis has some empty space, I think I overpowered the weapon and the extenders were overly heavy.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Inplabth's DSL Showcase« on: March 05, 2011, 01:12:30 AM »
Alright. That actually should give me the weight, with tightening up the chassis, lightening the extenders and messing with the weapon setup to add more weapons to the mix. Is my setup with the light DS teeth on the beater bars good? My thinking was that after the high DP teeth fell off the more durable beater bars would still be able to rack up the damage, even if it is less, without losing the weapon entirely.

TOPIC RESURRECTION
![]() Bot is currently unnamed and not quite finished. I need to trim the chassis down a little bit, but I wanted to know if the design is sound. My testing has shown the wedges to be outstanding and the damage is good, but not great. It rights itself consistently and quickly as well. If this is a design worth pursuing then I'll clean it up and skin it. 18
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Using 4GB RAM on a 32-bit system« on: February 28, 2011, 08:45:05 PM »
Since you're running a Core 2 Duo, it would be advisable to get a 64-bit OS, and barring that, you're hosed. 32-bit OSes will only recognise 4GB of memory, which includes your RAM and video card memory, dedicated or not.

I'm fixing up one of my old computers as a minecraft server so I can probably host one, if there's enough interest. It's far from a high-powered machine, and java is garbage, but it runs well enough under linux.
