I like it... though I question whether it is the best set up for a BW VS. How do fast rammers and Code RED do against it?

Well... since comments are coming in slow today I'll just put up my next bot, Midge:
Midge is sort of an update to Nit-Picker. It has 5 razors (over Nit-Picker's 4) and a faster overall speed. It is invertible and has a weapon arrangement that allows it to better handle VSs. It can defeat all AWs in NAR AI easily. Any comments would be appreciated. :D 989

Discussion / Re: What's Up With Wedges?« on: October 11, 2010, 01:47:50 PM »We do however have multiple controlled experiments suggesting that moving the weights around makes virtually no difference. The issue is we cannot truly isolate variables, or at least we can not be sure if we are. There are so many variables (faulty physics engine, weight distribution in certain areas of the bot, types of wedge, etc) that isolating just one of them and repeating it again and again is quite difficult. 993

Hello everybody! Here is the newest update to my BW VS, I call it Wraith:
Wraith is a BW VS with 6 razors on a piglet for weapons and Wide Ant wheels on Astrofilghts for drive. The problem with the old Agent Aqua (the robot showcased before this one) was that it was too slow and not invertible. With this redesign, I lightened my extenders and got wide ant wheels. I also used angled polycarb skirts for stabilizers, which gave me invertibility and made the bot more stable. Any comments would be appreciated. :D 994
Discussion / Re: What's Up With Wedges?« on: October 11, 2010, 01:25:14 PM »weight distribution has nothing to do with wedge power at all. I would question that sentiment. I think the relationship is more random than we think, but yet still plays a part. 995
Discussion / Re: What's Up With Wedges?« on: October 10, 2010, 11:07:03 PM »Maybe, but on the Infinity Arena, which I'm told has an infinitely flat floor, most of the time weight distribution didn't give either bot an advantage. If anything, moving the weight forward proved to be a minor disadvantage. Hmmmm... dang, wedges are just too complicated. 996
Discussion / Re: What's Up With Wedges?« on: October 10, 2010, 09:10:49 PM »Those "bumps" must affect your robots wedges. Hence the reason I said, "weight distribution probably plays a bigger part on some arenas than on others." What I mean is that on arenas with flatter floors, weight distribution probably has a greater affect on wedge effectiveness than on bumpier floors. 997

If I can add some info here. If anyone recalls my two robots "Dances with Knives" and "Kills with Knives," they had nearly unbeatable wedges in the BBEANS 5 Arena, but yet average wedges when fighting in the combat arena. So weight distribution probably plays a bigger part on some arenas than on others.
