Maybe we should send him pm's every 2 days like he did to us :P
I lol-ed. XD But you see... the problem lies with Badniks mom I believe. She has control of the computer time. Maybe if we send her flowers she will soften up. Address please? :P

Pork Chop was designed to grab popups. Glad to see that it actually worked beyond my testing. Great matches so far! Lots of unexpected wins. It seems like this is the ultimate darkhorse tourney. Whoever ends up champ should challenge Sage in the challenge thread because he had high expectations for his bot that didn't make the cut in time.

Batteries would have come out better if you used a Dremel. ... I'm just kidding. Looks great though. Pretty clean soldering work. I always found soldering batteries in sequence to be a pain in the ass. Takes a bit of patience. Good work!

actuallly fracture i got a ton of RAGEEE at me for entering Bumble Bee into BBEANS 5. The idea was to get a crawler with fast controlled movement (which it has) but people missed the point and saw it as a cheap tornado bot of death (which secretly they were all scared to fight).
Thankfully you got off the hook fast when Bumblebee lost. That'll show 'em! It just goes to prove that really no bot is invincible in a tournament. Heck I remember when Popups were consider cheap as well... People used to cry all over the place when those got entered in tourneys. Nowadays they are totally accepted because people are used to them.

Hate to overwhelm you with love but....
Welcome back Noodle! Good to see you kicking around again. I agree with the above posters that your building style is great and it is nice to see your showcase alive again.

Haha Pwn I was just pointing that out in the Tech Demo thread... :P
It is pretty sweet. Wish we had that kinda versatility with building. Sonny would certainly dig it!

Y'know what I find interesting about this tech demo though...
It supposedly came out before RA2... yet Nightmare strikes me as something that would be available in DSL. Also, the chassis on Yellow Vulture is actually pretty awesome. We don't have the capability to make a chassis like that in RA2. Though... since there are no bot files in the game... I would guess that the bots in the tech demo are just controllable components rather than actual assembled bots. At one point when I was goofing off, Yellow glitched out and the chassis split open for a moment... there was nothing inside that I could see.
So, those of you that are dreaming of modding the Tech demo... there isn't really much to play with. By my estimates, its just a bunch of controllable components that you can move around into each other and bounce them off the walls. Really simple... though kinda mean for them to tease such things when really RA2 didn't even come close to the level of building complexity that they apparently wanted to achieve.

Oh, and for those of you that cant get the other bots to work you have to press the appropriate number to initiate the camera on the bot and then press F11 to gain control of it.
Edit: Apparently I can only change bots when I am recording with FRAPS.... I changed my record settings to F9 and then found that I couldn't switch bots using F11... but I could switch bots using F9 instead. I have NO idea why this is. But, fact is, when i record I can control the other bots too. Weird.
But yeah. I agree that the movement seems really fluid and zippy... but it is a splendid Havok Fest altogether. I laughed so hard when I tried to get them to move around and they would frickin' bounce off everything. At one point I hit the moving blade and my bot soared into the air in slow-mo like the gravity got turned off... it bounced around a few times before coming to a halt. Silly stuff.

Found a link to the Tech Demo on Metal Virus' old website. Link didn't work though. However the filename listed on the site is ra2demo.zip
Maybe somebody keen to the whole filesharing hobby could find it on limewire or something.
Anyhow. Awesome chewblade click!

Congratulations Enigma and V Bomb!
About these new brackets, I'm pretty sure that all the Pop-ups are going to qualify for the final rumble.
With only one Pop-up in my group, I might make it to the Championship. However, I hate rumbles because another robot gangs up on me while I'm focusing on different mincemeat.
This is probably as far as I'll get...
Glad to see I am not the only one that gets the rules mixed up between tourneys... This is quoted from the signup thread:
Round Two
Same as round one, but the robots are re-assigned a group randomly and evenly (with four bots in each group); only two entries of each group will go through to the final.
Finals
Winner of two matches is the champion. Matches are 3 of 5.
No need to worry about rumbles Mr Bob. :D

Nice! Thanks for posting that. I had never seen SR battle before I made the replica. That thing is pretty awesome.

Using Win 4 Pro 64bit here. RA2 works fine. (and by fine i mean that it only crashes every now and then like RA2 normally would)
I can't vouch for glitches being harder because I don't use glitches at much as everyone else.

Should be o.k. RA2 is a very twitchy game. It will crash from time to time. Over the years I have had my RA2 (or DSL) crash numerous times. I just restart it. It has never harmed my computer ever. Sometimes if RA2 causes your computer to hang (act non-responsive) Don't freak out and turn the computer off with the power button. If it is thinking and you interrupt it, sometimes that can harm your computer. Learn to use the task manager in Windows and force close a non-responsive program. You can access the task manager by depressing Ctrl + Alt + Del. The task manager allows you to see which programs are running and which ones are not responding so you can safely force quit them. It also has a handy resource monitor so you can see which programs are eating up all your computer memory and slowing things down.
