This is my tournament idea. Basically, it will involve each of us rebuilding another's first showcased bot. It doesn't matter what weight class, as long as it is legal (So you can't do Scooby-Bot). Here are the rules: -It will be HW, rebuild the bots to that class if they are not HW. - It will be either Stock or DSL depending on the results of the poll I set up. - I'm looking at 16 entrants at the moment, first come first serve, including myself. - No BFE, AMM or ZeroG. BFE armour c will be enforced. - While it's easier for me if you AI your own bots, I can AI for you if you want. Custom AI allowed as long as it isn't cheaty. - Matches will be best of three, and there are some restart rules: - 1 havok restart is permitted each round, after a second match-affecting havok I shall impose a disqualification. - Unlimited restarts are allowed for bots getting counted out after getting stuck on components, getting stuck in the floor for no reason or the bots just spin in circles for ever. - Multibots are forbidden. - Custom parts and Cheatbot2 parts are forbidden. The only exceptions are custom smartzones, but only for AI'ing purposes. They may not be used for weight-adjusting or attaching components. - Further rules depend on if this tournament is stock or DSL.
The arena will be my Twiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisted Arena. Help on getting it to work with a .bmp map to give it more than plain colour would be greatly appreciated.
Prizes will come later.
There will be a losers bracket, and I'll post the bracket later. And it won't start for a bit.

That's quite a bit of work. I say use Lu-Tze's or wait for DSL 3 for the rounded tracks.
Sonny: About Iron Mask, It can be AI'ed with the AI Click is using for Bisector/DSL 3 Razer. One of us will have to sweet talk him into releasing it.

Sonny, don't you have 101, Crusader 2 (that could be reskinned as Crusader 1), Dreadnaut XP-1 (that looks almost the same) , Darke Destroyer, Cassius 1 (Which could be reskinned as Gravedigger), Napalm, Oblivion, Shark Attack, Sonic, Stag-O-Saw-Us, Triterobot, The Iron Mask and Victor already?

Don't use square extenders. They weigh more than round ones but are no stronger.

RA2 is fine with everything in so far. We have the original Joust Arena.

@Craaig: I agree, but keep a seperate motor for Hypno.
@everyone: There are going to be some chassis that we will find hard to make the regular way. Like Stag's cut off wedge. I propose making a servo motor that is as powerful as drive motors so these replicas can turn.

Why Robot Wars Series 3?
Why not?

This will be a bunch of many reskinned components I guess. We should make a checklist for what we still have to do.
Many many customs I believe.

SZ's do collide.. but if you specify Base = Smartzone the game will allow robots to pass through it
Not that, but like in Doomed Bots Iron Outlaw vs Flash Firefly, where your huge smartzone triggered R1885' weapons at loads of times it shouldn't.

So other smartzones ignore them?

DP Thy, when you asked about spotlights before, this was Click's reply: You could maybe do it the way that Mad made his Matrix arena. Instead of having platforms appear and disappear under the bots, you would have light spots appear and disappear. It wouldn't be smooth, but it would work.
