anything above 5s kinda melts the brushes...

[(motor output rpm*wheel dia) / 366] = speed of robot in mph

[(900*4) /366] = 10mph

that's plenty fast for a 12 pushy bot. The 12 "Tough Nut" was running 4 hf drills with 3" wheels and was "fast" compared to most other 12's.

no. its a two speed. two speeds are a pain in the ass to work with because of the gearbox construction. everything is held together with the drill casing. the harbor freight 900rpm drill is actually cheaper, comes with a battery/charger and have a proven record in both the 12 and 30 weight classes. I also have an instructable on how to hack them.

You paid $4.99 for a CD-R with a single song on it?

sh**, I could be a millionaire...

Kidding... Very interesting piece, but I do believe you overpaid a bit. The cover art is probably hard to come by, though.

Hahah!  Actually the CD has three songs on it.  You are kinda right though because I normally would only pay a buck tops for a music CD via ebay or thrift shop and then I just encode it instead of purchasing it for full price online.

And the Freebie is the Dr. Inferno Jr Soundtrack CD (4 songs on that one).  I am currently conversing with the seller about other Battlebots Stuff.  Nothing solid, more on that later.

Man he gave you a better deal than he gave the guys on the RFL forum. He only offered them a pack of RFL trading cards with every purchase....

from what i've seen garolite tends to work great till it catastrophically fails. I'd go with thin (less than) 1/16" ti or steel.

also come up with a better team name...

Sweet. Is there a Dick Dastardly to go with it or is it just Muttley?

Yes there was. Dick Dastardly was a horizontal spinner built by a guy who used to be on here (zipdragon64)

So... now about how the event went.... Dick Dastardly/Muttley fought as a 6lb multibot and went 0-3 at BotBlast. It was fun though all its fights were very entertaining.

it's been built almost in the style of your RA2 bots.
I fully support the use of a large bash bar... RA2 or IRL

wonder if wheelguards of some description would have been useful.
yeah... about that... it got a wheelectamy pretty much every fight. Wheel guards will be added before it fights next.

I like your ideas... you just need to work a bit on executing them a little better but that will come with time and playing around with RA2. as said before, piglets don't make good drive motors. they just don't have the torque to move a heavy weight. try using the mags or NPC motors. I usually shoot for 2 NPC's or 4 mags in a weaponed hw bot or 4 for a pushy bot. 2 npc's are adequate for a mw pushy bot and two mags are plenty for a weaponed one.
