It has to be in Playground, and as long as it follows the Junkyard Rules, you're good.

General Support / Re: Smartzones-where?« on: April 11, 2014, 10:32:23 PM »OK.....Well what I did was I was trying to make a CPU controlled replica and I'd got it moving but couldn't get the weapon to work because some trouble with the smartzones. I downloaded something that made my RA2 crash trying to get the smartzones. So I copied the AI and bindings folders so I wouldn't have to spend ages going through bindings and all the rest of it, then pasted the folders into my safe copy of RA2 DSL, replacing the old ones. I think it was working(except I hadn't got smartzones yet) and then I used cheatbot 2 to get the smartzone and exported the bot, copied it and let it replace the old Arena killer (the robot I'm replicating) and renamed it 'bot2', like the old Arena Killer was and now whenever I try to use the CPU controlled Arena Killer it says 'abnormal program terminentation' and closes the game.Hmm, is your bot's name exactly the same as it's written in the bindings? It is case sensitive. Also, the 'bot' file, does it have the proper file extension, .bot? 925

Thor's Hammer. This was going to be the topic of my next Let's Build, but I found out too late that WIndows 8 doesn't let you record Desktop footage, and there isn't much to see from the in-game build. And of course that puts a real damper on making vids about BFE. Kickstarter to buy Resetti a license of Camtasia and a computer drawing tablet thingy?
I like this bot, because it was clearly built on a budget, and in tandem with the team's heavyweight bot. Not bad for some loose parts converted into a robot, and it looks surprisingly cool for a paintjob that barely had time to dry before filming. ![]() 926

It's a real taboo, you'll see in the Tournaments section that 99.9% of them have "No BFE" as the very first rule.Sonny, do you think you could do a let's build special on how to BFE? I tried the tutorial pictures and it didn't work (I wasn't saving the n++ file neither).Yeah, what he said. 929

Off-Topic Discussion / DUal Monitors question« on: April 06, 2014, 04:04:16 PM »
I was hoping to run dual monitors on my pc, but it only had one of each DVI-I & DVI-D port. Do I have to buy a whole new graphics card with two ports, or can I get a second identical graphics card to make it work?
Alternatively, what's a good single card for running dual monitors? 931

Leighviathan. The scoop may look like a straight wedge, but it's actually curved by 10 degrees. It's on a 90-degree axle so it flails around. Hand drawn logo. Chainsaw comes from Lu-Tze's pack

It's a Lithium Polymer battery. It get extremely hot when it shorts out, in this case because Gloomy cut through it. There was no actual flammable material, so the fire burned out pretty quick.

Click! Your annual appearance reminds me of how rare you're here. I've made DSL3 an integral part of my building. I got a job so my replica building time is severely reduced, but I always have a robot in the works. Leighviathan right now.

I'd be very surprised if the 6 snowplows were the real reason it crashed, I've made bots with a metric tonne of components. How about you post some pictures of your bot (internals showing, preferably) and give us a detailed account of what you did.
Are you using any custom components or mods other than the DSL pack? 939

Unfortunately there are some issues with the physics engine that cause the game to glitch out when you do certain things. Motors breaking off is the most common cause, so you should only attach motors to the baseplate, unless absolutely necessary to do otherwise. Motor-to-motor connections as you probably guessed, are even more unstable.
