Or if you have Shoop, alter the alpha channel. Paint it black. Use white for transparency.

I miss Mewtwo. He wasn't very powerful but it was nice to have more playable bad guys.
I much prefer Mewtwo to Lucario. I don't even know what Lucario is! I know it's one of the newer Pokemans, but I know nothing of the thing.

They should get Ryu from Street Fighter to be in the next one. Instead of pressing a string of button combos for 20 minutes to do a haduken, you can just hit smash b.

Weren't you one of those smelly AceUplink people?

AU is the main place my bots were called overloaded. (probably because I ripped them to shreds in online battles)
So I guess you're to blame for the way kids build bots these days. Or Starcore. His AI packs always made me scream, "AHHH!!! YOUR BOTS ARE TOO COMPLICATED!!!"

Bots were different in our era. Style mattered a lot more than how many maces we could fit on a boring little chassis.

Yep, it was seeing how many iron spikes we could fit on a badass little chassis. Maybe that is why everybody said my bots were overloaded.....what ever the heck that means. (would be like saying a millionaire is loaded and a billionaire is overloaded I guess)

SHOWCASE NAO

I really do wanna see some classic style sbots from other members.
I'll do my best to rebuild my classic bots when I finally get around to reinstalling. People will complain about the size of my chassis on all of my bots, but I won't care. The paint job has always been more important to me anyway.

Just get the Metroid prime collection for wii. they retrofitted the first two games with the same controls as the third, and released it as one game for the same price.
And it includes a kick ass metal case with in-game achievements for all three titles. Oh, and widescreen!

The whole awesomeness of the Wii is that you are actually holding the gun in your hands,    not just controlling it with a joystick. This effect is even further exemplified when you get one of those gun attachment things (Link's crossbow training). This dynamic is present in no other system besides the arcade games.

That said, the FPS on the 360 and PS3 are much more detailed, fluid, and deep. Hopefully the upcoming releases of The Conduit 2 and Goldeneye: Wii can even the playing field.
Metroid Prime 3, while more of an adventure game, is a fine shooter. I love the controls!

Veteranship, at least during my tenure, wasn't an official deal. The existing veterans either accepted you in as a veteran, or they didn't. I was accepted in amongst those such as Grawss and HackerX within a year or so.

How much one accomplished was fairly meaningless. Be0t did quite a bit, but was never accepted as being a veteran by the community at large. Which just goes to show that you can do amazing things and still be a total n00b (a very kind n00b, but a n00b nonetheless).

Like I said, it's just what I prefer.  I said that the simple game mechanics of Mario (jumping on stuff) doesn't appeal to me, whereas those of first person shooters (running around and shooting people) does.
I have no problem with that. I was objecting to your argument that Mario is stale when the genre of your preference is equally as stale. It seems like every shooter these days is a CoD clone. Don't they know I'd prefer nothing but Goldeneye clones?

I tought Game Cube was too old and WII too new to have that happend.

Oh well, I just managed to get my hands on the game but it was the US version so it failed before it even tried to work, now downloading a PAL version but its taking years at the speed of 60kbs, since the game is over 1gb...
The Wii uses faster versions of the same CPU and GPU as the GameCube, so it's able to run GameCube games without emulation.

Mario Kart: Double Dash for GCN > MK for the Wii
WHA? I didn't know it was possible for somebody to take that position.

SSB Melee > SSB Brawl
But Brawl takes the mechanics of Melee and gives you a whole lot more.

and the N64 Zelda titles are still the best IMO.
They were the best, but that doesn't mean the news ones aren't better than most of the games out there.

Also, I wouldn't even consider putting the New Super Mario Bros. in the same thought as "great." It's a glorified 2-d sidescroller taken from a handheld system and shoehorned to fit a console.
You say "glorified 2-d sidecroller" as if that's a bad thing.

I was an avid Nintendo guy until the Wii came out. I loved my Gamecube, so I was pumped for the release of the Wii. Getting the thing and playing it was a bitter, bitter dissapointment. The way I see it, the Wii was Nintendo once again looking ahead in the gaming industry. It saw Microsoft and Sony engaging it in a dogfight over the niche market of gamers, and it saw Xbox and Playstation's success. The Wii was never intended to please the following that Nintendo had worked so hard to build, it was never intended for the market that it had all but created - Nintendo saw a shrinking share of the marketplace and designed and marketed to a completely new one: the "casual" gamer. Consequently, by alienating the gaming faithful that grew up on Pokemon and the Mario Bros, they made their console the single most successful one on the marketplace with stuff like Wii Fit.

I don't fault Nintendo, but "gamers" like the Xbox and PS3 better by design. We weren't the Wii's target consumer group.
I'm so tired of that argument. "Gamer" gamers need to chill out and stop taking this sh** so seriously. Oh, and how can you love the GameCube but hate casual titles? The GameCube was full of them! (100 Mario Party games, 100 Mario Sports titles, 2 Donkey Kongas, Mario DDR, WarioWare, Pac Man VS, and the list could go on.)

I said most of the games.  Still, none of the titles you named really appeal to me either.  I might've given brawl another chance were it not the only reason to go dust off the Wii and plug it in again.

I never was a huge fan of all the Mario stuff either.  I mean, I liked the first few Mario games I got but after a while it just started to seem like the same old stuff being presented to me with the occasional graphics improvement or some other added gimmick.  I just grew sick of it.

When you get down to the core game mechanics, it's the same for most of the Mario games; you run around, hop on enemies heads, and jump across platforms and the such.  I guess there's nothing necessarily wrong with this, it's just that I prefer the simple core mechanics of a first-person shooter, in which the player runs around a shoots people.
You like first person shooters, but don't like Mario because it's the same old stuff presented with occasional graphics improvements? That makes no sense. The game mechanics of shooters have remained basically the same since Doom!

Wich console this was for again? I might try get my hands on an emulator for that and then the game too.
It has made appearances on the SNES (F-Zero), N64 (F-Zero X), Gameboy Advance (F-Zero Maximum Velocity  & F-Zero GP Legend), GameCube (F-Zero GX), and the arcade (F-Zero AX).

hey guys I've been wondering what is needed to achieve veteran status on the forums. I've been around for about 7 years or so, hosted more tournaments then most, showcased a heap of bots and helped out the new people.

to sum up, i would like a purple title :)
If you're creating a thread about it, you're probably not a vet. I suggest sending ACAMS a PM detailing why you're a Vet. Not why you think you're a Vet, but why you are one.

There's nothing specific anyone can do to be a Vet. Either you are one, or you're not.

I think the reason why is because once you get past the fact that you can move your arms around and stuff happens, the Wii doesn't really have much more to offer.  The graphics are sub-par and most of the games available for the Wii are either shovel-ware, intended for children, or just games that are nothing more than "LOOK IT DOES STUFF WHEN YOU MOVE YOUR ARM!"
But the Wii also has all of the great Nintendo first party titles like Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Metroid Prime, Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 (some of the best games ever made), Zelda, New Super Mario Bros., and so on.
