Got to admit, the VS looks beastly.

Tournament Archives / Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Tournament Idea) (Interest Check)« on: May 06, 2010, 08:47:02 PM »![]() While most tournaments pit robots against each other. This will be the first where it tests a robot's endurance. This would be in a style of more like a reality show where a robot will get eliminated each week by the testing in the arena it will go through. Tests will include, -The Small Arena's Crusher (Armor)(Time Alive / Hits From The Cusher= Score) -Resistance to Popups (HnM 4 would make a great contender) -Battery Life (Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth) -SHRiMech Speed (No invertability) -Flame Pits (The time when all drive motors are burnt = Score) -Resistance to flail razors (Time destroyed = Score) -Speed+Tourque (fastest time across the joust arena/ the overall torque of the bot) -Face off w/ a random Nar AI (2.0) robot (Most likely going to be the championship round) This cannot be completely AIed in any way, shape, or form (trust me I've tried). But some of the tests can be feasible though self control or SOME AI. This will be the most difficult tournament yet. Building Rules -No crawlers -No weapons -No invertability -Must have a SHRiMech -No wedges -No BFE or AAM -No custom components -No cheatbot2 parts -MUST build to the weight limit (795+) -No Darkrat parts -No Castor Armor -No Heavy or Steel V plows -1/2 Sheets cannot be mounted directly to the baseplate -DSL NOT Nar AI -DSL HW -No More Than 2 Upgrades -If this gets accepted, bots will be due May 30-June 7 Bracket Layout This is not a "first come, first serve" tournament. Instead, I would allow any amount of robots from different users to be able to qualify. BUT, ONLY 10 will make the final cut. Each competitor will have their own "Pod" so other robots will not interfere with another's game play. To make this more easier, the arena the robot is in will in fact be skinned with something that would represent their pod (it's a surprise) In every show there is a battle and a treatment, the battle will represent a random Nar AI HW. The longer a robot is alive with their randomly chosen robot, they will be exempted from the treatment. The treatment could take as long as it can, depending on how each robot is designed. The robot that preforms the least greatest, would have to go through a penalty round consisting of a certain benchmark needing to be obtained in contrast to the original treatment. When a robot fails a penalty round, they are eliminated. The arenas will go as follows: The Small Arena The Combat Zone The Robot Wars Arena The Ring Arena (NOT SERGE'S) The Test Arena The Bot Lab Dummy's Think Tank Any more questions? http://hbfs.sm4.biz NEW WEB SITE 905

Speaking of Mortis, that was my favorite bot of all time. Just finally seeing destruction on robot wars relieved me.
Worst robot of all time would go to.... Either Biohazard or Voltronic. Both made almost all 3 minute matches with no destruction involved at all. LIFTERS are boring, but FLIPPERS rule. 910

There is no torque reaction taking place. Use DSL disks as wheels if you want that style.
