Rightyho, I have a little update;
getting some parts from Hobbyking, but I have a problem;
I have the 2.4 GHz Planel digital remote control that comes with the robot wars antweight kit, but would it work with any old 2.4 Ghz reciever? I have no clue
Do you not have the receiver that comes with it?
When I got the antweight kit and started to fiddle around with the bot (since it didn't work) it broke

If you are using the App version of Skype on Windows 8 and want a desktop version just download Skype for the desktop from the Skype website

I've felt that Whams 2013 ai pack has been lacking in quite a few ways, so I was thinking to myself; could we make replicas to add to the pack? And I know HereticBlue is adding countless awesome things to add to DSL 3 and whams pack but could we do more ourselves as a group?

You're going to have a bad time if you're trying to do this using the transmitter and receiver from a toy. Ants are cheap but there's always costs to starting up.
craaig is right, the era of modded toys for use as combat robots ended years ago
I'm not gonna enter it in any antweight tournaments, only fun side events in Robot wars live to get free seats  I'm trying to create a £0 ant weight and get started with making robots, for my next I will do what you said. And thanks :)
Also, I'm gonna try and find some aluminium from a scrapyard to try and create the chassis, anyone know about any in Kent?

Yeah, I'm on Sheppey if you know where that is. For ants there is a cost to build even the cheapest thing, you can build one for about £60 including radio.
Add me on skype since it's easier to talk on there and I can get you in contact with Haz so you have multiple sources for any help you may need.
Ahhh ok, I just wanted to get introduced with robotics and building, I've got a neat controller but I just need motors, batteries, a switch, a light and wheels. Speaking of skype, Windows 8 skype is crap

Yeah, I'm making a team :P Got home, started work dissesembling this old remote control dalek and got some parts going:   But I ran into a problem, my dads gonna try and help saw it off but is that the right course of action? will it damage the electronics?:  (Yup thats the battery box) Anyway, any tips? Also... I think I should mention my real age since I think it's necessary what you talk about around me, i don't usually do this since I am a conservative person... but I am some age which I don't want pedophiles to know
