Stock Showcases / Re: Sircreepalot2's Very Average Showcase

It looks decent as-is, but Internal Zteks are generally a waste of weight. You should always try to keep your drive Z-teks outside of the chassis, even if it means doing something like this:

Which was achieved with axle loading (aka just snapper loading but with zteks). Wider wheel base means it will turn faster and be able to take opponents by the side easier in a turning competition (which happens more often then you would think).

Keep your snowplows wide. Maybe move them back a little. As long as they protect your wheels and a majority of your chassis they should be fine.

IIRC 090901 had some part in finding ASAS, I think he found a bunch of snapper2 stacks but I don't exactly remember.

Mecha's bot looks like it's smartzone is either way too far forward or it's using omni. Not like it really matters since it already won though.

Does that not defeat the point of using a texture with a higher resolution?
You're going to have to manually apply the decals in your image editor of choice if you want to apply them. It's easier to do in an image editor because decals don't come out as a blurry mess most of the time like they do in RA2.

As for edge lines, you can paint your bot red and apply edge lines before you export it, and then just export the bot skin as-is and edit that.

Apply one of the skins in the "custom skin" folder that's 256x256.

Here's what I did:
1. Downloaded this
2. Threw it into stock
3. Select 4 bots for a battle royale match
4. Switched it to death match
5. selected AA joust arena
6. Ignored the third tab, hit pause and then play
7. Wall of bot

It seems to only work in this arena, on light stock bots with plastic but I haven't actually really tested it that much.

Modifications / Re: ReForged AI Pack - Development
« on: September 07, 2015, 03:49:08 PM »
I know that there have been AI packs where it was made by one person, 15 teams and all. However, that took years of development.
It's worth noting that most (read: pretty much all) of the 2-ish years that it took to put out ASAI was spent not actually working on the pack. If I actually put in time every day to make the pack it probably would have been done in up to 2 or 3 months at the most.

I think a good idea would be to put weight restrictions on certain bot types, like popups can only be 225 for LW, 350 for MW, 700 for HW, etc. Only problem with that is people will forget what weight restrictions for certain types are and there would probably be quite a bit of dispute between what the handicaps should be.
Almost as retarded of an idea as cruiserweight. What about hybrids? Just because you put a crappy 2-razor popup on your bot means you should get a disadvantage? If you decide to put restrictions on more than one bot type (such as VS or wedged rammer), what happens when someone comes along with their popup+VS+Wram hybrid? What would you even do then?

Rookies/XTRA rebuilds. None of them are skinned or renamed yet.

Sting Ray. It rams things and is faster than the other LW snowclone rammers I built.

BOT-CHOY. The original was some weird wedged rammer thing and so is this one. Only difference is that this one has a popup weapon/srimech.

C R U S H. Wouldn't you know, it's a hammer that doesn't suck complete ass. It can actually beat HS that can drive toward the opponent.

Atom Smasher. Did you know that this is the first side popup in ironforge? IIRC Shin Ronin is also the first Wammer+Popup hybrid, with BOT-CHOY being the second.

Walrus. It's basically just WIIIIIDE LOAD but with one piston and more weapons.

Barbershop Chop. It looks like it would be ass, but it can perform decently enough. Fully invertable and turns into a half-crawler when the plows are taken off.
