Yep, just ordinary drums painted green and unshined. To get the angled effect, I used the dsl3 anglers, then BFE'd them inwards to get rid of the gaps. It took 118 drums to make those ridges.

Revenge. It was a bit hard to make, since these pictures are from a Youtube video, which was made by pointing a camcorder at a TV. Also, the delicate bits got knocked off and re-sticked several times during the fight. Still, with a little elbow grease, and 218 components, it came together.

son of smashy goes undefeated and doesnt return no it could have gotten some better armor and it could have possibly beaten hazard that would be fight of the century the resiliency of SoS versus the weapon of hazard wew
I don't think it would've done that well, it's hard to gauge a robot's armor strength when it never had to take on a powerful spinner. I guess Derek Young didn't have the time to work on SoS once he started building Complete Control, but hopefully you agree that that was for the better.

I got it resolved, it turns out all I needed was one DVI-D cable and one VGA with a DVI-I adapter. I was surprised that none of the online tutorials could straight up tell me that.

Oh yeah, it is Windows 8, forgot to mention that.
Unless you've got a square montior, you don't want to use fullscreen anyway - the game was designed for square monitors and fullscreen stretches everything to fit your screen.

There is something I do not understand... Why people make replicas that have been made already? (And I mean that they're good quality as well)
Just wondering, because I don't get it. Of course one reason might be practicing your replica making skills.
Either that, or you think you can do it better than what you've seen.

Am I really the only one who keeps the number of colours to a minimum?
presumably he didn't have enough grey or black blocks to do it all in one colour.

Ok, I take it all on board. I'll try Weird Alice 2 on DSL2 but I'm not promising I'll upload it tomorrow. I'm busy. Sorry.
Maybe your replicas would come out better if you stopped making up imaginary deadlines. No one will care if you delivered on your promise to have it done by the tomorrow, but everyone will care how good it was I spent 6 days on Thor's Hammer, 21 days on Sump Thing, 13 days on Widow's Revenge, and I have one in progress that's currently 5 days old. When will it be finished? When it's finished. I know you asked people to lay off the criticism, but that's an important point that no one's addressed - and doesn't apply to you alone.

My ho left me. If she was still being my pet like usual, then I would threaten it as punishment.
 I can't imagine why.

You can BFE your bot to make the axe swing further. You can do up to ~3 radians without havok risks.

i feel that if we continued with the roboteer title distribution, it would end up with people taking RC cars and being all like "this is my first robot"
All of the robots I built were made from about 90% scrapped RC car parts and I have two tournament wins in open-class events and a runner-up from an RFL-sanction event. It's more about the engineering than where the parts came from, imo.
true. i guess i meant more of an unmodified RC car put in the arena.
Is the arbiter of the title a roboteer him/herself? That's the fairest way to decide when you get down to brass tacks. "I don't know what Gametechmods is anymore" -Drunk Rob Collins 2014
And here we see a positive effect of drinking alcohol to excess. Wait, is Rob over 21?

Yeah but one of my rules (to make my replicas unique) is that I don't even use custom paint jobs, but I do use DSL. Also comengetorix is a bit to tall XD.
That's an interesting rule. Why would you shoot yourself in the foot by depriving yourself of the one thing you can always rely on to look good when the game's mechanics come up short?

2. Pokemon Fire Red: The Pokemon tower. When I first encountered ghost I immediately thought back to the creepy pasta about Ghost and laughed. Then I tried to attack. When it told me my Pokemon was too scared to move I honestly thought for a moment I was facing THE ghost of the story and shat bricks
It's a shame they didn't keep Missingno. You probably would've had a funny reaction to that.

Bump.
I see a Groudon on the cover. I am interested.
Anyways, just got into pokemon, was wondering if these are going to be exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS or will there be other platforms?
Probably just the 3DS, Pokemon has long been exclusive to the Nintendo handhelds, and the company needs to keep it that way to keep their heads above water.

Joel runs a Windows XP emulator, and takes a caustic look at the state of computing in 2002. Then he downloads a ton of viruses.

What will you do if there's a tie?
