Gotta test that with fraps and see does they give me same results. =)

Edit: It didn't work. I tested it in DSL-TC 2.0 with 1.2 patch for the RA2 and I didn't get any kind of window by pressing F9. Neither without fraps.

It only works with v1.3 and does give the same results as Fraps (funny, I was just testing that yesterday and asking how to check fps in the game)

oh yeah Fraps, remembered that program. but its too much into its trial version (videos can only be 30 seconds). no thanks.

Maybe with Max you could convert RA1 arenas/components into RA2 stuff, but not with Dummy's compiler.  I've tried decompiling RA1 stuff and it works about as well as importing an RA1 bot into RA2.

ah, ok... i dont have Max however and im too cheap to go out and buy it.

Linky: http://www.robotarena.com/wizforum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5753&PN=1

discovered a new draggable feature on Robot Arena 2 that displays the FPS while you play as well as have a built in notepad for you to type in.
click link for more details.

"Cluster bot" is the more elaborate terminology but yes, that is the only way you would do it. even though i've seen some people create 2 bots from 1 chassis.

You can't get RA1 components or arenas to work in RA2.  They're made with an earlier version of 3DSM and saved in a different gmf format that's incompatible.

file conversion?

true, as for the arenas. i have a weak lack of knowledge of using 3d studio max, so i will instead create a UI/AI pack. coming soon... anyone that knows how to create arenas are free to give to me to put in the pack. they will also be creditted.

Kind of a self explanitory question. Do you just make another RA2 file and replace files or is it just impossible to do?

sounds like a good idea...and the spikes that come out of the floor can be broken and rusty..and saw blades can be rusty aswell

this may be a bit "Farfetched" but if they do come out the floor, it would be a little comedic to see them break off when your robots weapons hit them. as if no one took the time to take care of buying new blades and spikes. the parts that are still attached to the floor motors however should still do some damage, not the pieces broken off. just a thought.

Either type in the name section cheatbot2
Or go to components folder and open every text file and if there reads hidden=1 or something like that change it to 0. Now you should see all the AI parts and so on.

Mr. Weedy, your the man. thx.

You were right, everything was hidden and now it works. thx again.

Just copy and paste the razor parts and the py files into you normal RA game.

ok I'll try.. thx

ok... i JUST downloaded the Dsl mod for the game and replaced the UI with the traditional one for convienence and efficency of the NVidia card. when i look at components, i can seem to find the razer parts. every other part is shown it seems except the ones for the AI robots. is there some way to use the shell and stuff?

is it possible that a seperate zip file or pack can be created with only Razers parts in it to use on my standard RA2 version. i dont want to really erase my bots or ai bots via downloading the dsl mod.

thank you for your posts

You should be able to go into the Arenas folder, and into each separate arena from there.  The maps folder is the one where all the bmp files are, and I guess they coudl eb modified from there ..... Just save an original of each map in case something gets goofed up, though ...

true... it will also be nice to have a download package that has all the Robot Arena, Robot Arena 2, and Dsl mod arenas so that you wont have to go through the trouble of downloading the whole thing for hours. if you just want to play on the arenas that is.
