Clearly the most advanced bot ever is Sumpthing.

I'm not even trying. I can troll pretty evil but I don't feel like lowering my rep any more.
No, that was just pulling facts out of your rear. Note the difference.

Sure, why not? Bring it on.

Either flipper is fine, it's all a mater of the arena it self. (UK style for distance, US style for height.)

Looks a bit like Sub-Zero's arm.

It works via an internal clutch, it stops the spinner and transfers the energy to the flipper.

Why, can't he just print out a piece of paper with the disc design and tape it down and drill it?

Discussion / One wheeled bots, should they be banned?
« on: June 08, 2011, 09:04:55 PM »
As of late, I noticed that one wheeled bots have been getting the ax recently. My question is, why? One wheeled bots have been built for years, many melty brain spinners exist in US tournaments, I can name two right now if I wanted to. What makes them such a taboo?

Or you could make a real life EMERGENCY :P
You stole my idea!

On topic: Maybe you could give Shish more power, like a pair of 150-Ampflow motors.

The bot is Tough as Nails. It progressed deep into series seven before being taken out by Bull Dog Breed in the semis. It was a horizontal clamp bot.

@GoldenFox: I still think TAN is a superior. That's your opinion, and that's fine- I just hate the robot myself. Your Entitled to your opinion

TAN was built with the RWs arena in mind, Panic Attack only adapted. Only the pit, really. Wasn't the pit lowed by an operator? In most of the cases when Panic Attack used the pit, the battle was pretty much over, with exceptions.

TAN was not cheap, it simply fallowed what the builder wanted. The idea of a "Horizontal Crusher" was actually quite an interesting one in theory, but it's hardly an interesting design in practise if it just grips hold instead of actually doing anything. TAN is not a crusher, it is a clamp bot, just like Complete Control, and no ones calling that cheap.

And to be frank, I think Disco Inferno is a rather lackluster machine, and Gravity while cool, was horridly impractical. Disc-O-Inferno did actually improve in its later years- it won an Annihilator in RW Extreme, tore Velocirippa apart, and got to the Heat Finals in Series 6, only losing out to Bigger Brother. So yes, I think, had it not been pitted, it could have done quite well.
Gravity however, impractical as it may be, was still a far more interesting robot than TAN, in the fact that it could actually do something to its opponents, in this case tossing opponents around like toys. I think it's more interesting seeing an untested design go at it. Disc-o-inferno design is a tired, bland, overused machine. If I recall correctly, Velocirippa was built with a fiberglass shell, which basically is spinner bait as is. Gravity was against some experienced machines, but they were almost entirely infective, had high ground clearance, or was to slow to stop it. The reason why TAN beat them was because TAN was better, not cheap.
