General Support / Re: How to edit a botfile to make it's burst motor have an 180 degree arc?« on: July 06, 2014, 08:12:27 PM »
Go into the bot file and locate the line below the burst motor. The second number is the swing arc in radians, change that to extend the swing arc. 1.5708 is equal to 90 degrees. In my experience, you can go as high as +/- 2.9 without havok risks.

Modifications / Re: Robot Wars RA2 Massacre« on: July 06, 2014, 04:03:17 PM »I do feel that Big Nipper would be a necessary addition for this pack but before I can do this, I need to find someone skilled in 'Bot File Editing' to create a low profile chassis that can be hidden inside what there is the robots shell.Sure, I can do that for you. You should know that if you're using BFE'd chassises, you can only play the game on low quality, and that drawing on ht chassis itself will be night impossible. 845

Impact. The hammer is attached to an inatcive burst, so it wobbles when it hits something, like the real thing.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Planning to get a new Computer.« on: June 23, 2014, 10:20:11 PM »Since my laptop is soon 3 years old, and suffering multiple problems, I have decided to get a new one. I'm basically looking for 1000-1200 euro laptop for huge amount of use and heavy gaming. Right now, I'll most likely get this one.Does i have to be portable? If you're willing to go for a desktop, you can easily get the same specs for half the price. 847

Discussion / Re: Stock "Sportsman Class"« on: June 22, 2014, 02:56:47 PM »I see this quickly becoming a popup and HS (possibly rammer if small and e-wedge are banned) fest as many other bot types use said banned/parts glitches to their advantage. Anyone can easily make a 12 HS within the rules, for example:Perhaps a modified IRL ruleset? It doesn't have to be as stringent, but it would be in the spirit of things to ban some unrealisms, like overlapping spinners. 849

If you actually follow through on filming all 66 battles, I'll be mighty impressed.

It's a long shot, but if you know any of the teams in question, you could ask them. At each Battlebots event you could purchase a videotape of your own robot's fights. Maybe one of them still has it.

Probophobia. I rebuilt this one, and used a 170-degree Burst motor to power the lifter. The old one had probes on a spin motor that swung 360 degrees, but couldn't flip anything or right itself.

Twister. I finally figured out a way to keep it from tipping over when it hits something. This version is so much cooler than the S7 version.

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: What would YOU build?« on: June 05, 2014, 06:56:07 PM »
Another idea I had was to make a bot like Big Nipper, only somehow make it capable of using both weapons in the same battle. BN basically has to choose beforehand whether it's going to be a lifter or a crusher, and I'd like to invent some way to do both. It's the perfect design to reach inside a flipper bot and sever its pneumatic ram - Seriously, in its match against Grim Reaper, it had its claws wrapped right around the Reaper's mechanism, but couldn't do anything about it because the they went with the lifter config.

Maybe something like Diesector or Tazbot. I've really come to apreciate the innvoation and ingenuity after the builder released all of his fights. They weree designed to take a beating, and win with minimal damage to the foe. Plus they were great to watch.
if i had the money to build a hw i would build abot similar to complete control but with a spike to impale them before lifting them. Good luck with repairing them between matches. 858

Hmm, might be able to. How did the tail and claws work? The claws look static since the holes don't look big enough to allow the claws to move, and the tail looks like it might strike the space bewteen the claws, but I could be wrong
