There have actually been a few versions of Ginsu built over the years.

Might be another variation or two out there.

If you want to take a shot at Mr. Self Destruct, I can send you detailed drawings of the parts. Whole thing's been modeled in Solidworks so I should at least be able to send something vaguely useful.

Updated Wasp

3mm Alu
2 Ant packs
Beaten all of the LW's I've tested it against, including many posted earlier in this thread.

If I can get the AI that allows navigation while spinning, this may be my BBEANS6 entry.

Guess I have to make sure I don't stink up the place too much as the #1 seed for BBEANS 6.

Great finish

Also, w00t:
2nd overall, WB winner in CC2
3rd in BBEANS 5
Champion of Champions rumble (spoilers)winner

Not a bad little run there.

Still waiting on the Firecracker speed controllers.

In other news, there's a full build report for Mr. Self Destruct in the August issue of Servo Magazine.

The way I approach tournaments may play a role in it. I don't necessarily try to build the best robot possible, I try to build one that's a good fit for the arena and tournament format, Copyright Infringement sorta being the exception, as I was trying to build a 36iron and didn't finish a proper one 'till after entries closed.

Smashbox- Fast and flippy for an arena with low walls and no other hazards
Grindhouse- Low-ish, lots of teeth/damage per second, stable and well armored for a tournament with lots of high powered but somewhat unstable bots. It was also plan B after being disappointed with a SuperSmashbox attempt.

Then there's the general DSL approach I take of "If I had real world versions of these parts, how would I build it"

Ok, now you lost me. :O

Read over my description, it's like that with another piece added into the AI.

I suspect the rear armor/weapons probably played a big role in my winning that match.
