How will teams of 3 work? People like Starcore and Inf could just do it solo. Not to mention the hassle it is just PMing between two people. Three people would be a joke.
Why 10 teams instead of a number that is a power of 2 (or 4 for a full rumble tourney) ? How will the brackets work with 10 entries? 805

Well, it's literally a season of road racing. Was thinking of two race classes with 6 drivers in each - Compact and Saloon. Driving on race circuits and ovals.
Both will have 6 car choices - they all have different characteristics, some might be better then others, others might be good on particular tracks but they tend to form a good pack. Breakaways are possible though, in either direction. It's most likely to do with pitting though. Can't decide between 5 kilometer or 10 kilometer races. Not sure about upgrades. Was thinking of an "experience" level out of the AI skill, but even 10 pts difference is pretty unbalanced. 809

Heh, I had an idea of a more technical Generally AI season. Like, complex. Been working on things.

Chatterbox / Re: Nostalgic TV Shows Thread« on: February 15, 2010, 04:23:56 AM »I remember once there was a commercial that said: "Cubix will go back into the Fox-box vault and never coming back!" in a cheery voice. That was a big f*ck you in the face to me. Now, I hated Cubix (It was shown on CN sometime ago) but damn, that IS one hell of a FU. Of ACAMS' list I've only seen Pink Panther. Good times. Watched clips of The Critic. Too awesome. 813

Heh, did not expect the QA ED control scheme..
30 Dollar Question doesn't have wiring or a CB. Looks fast but it's just a wedge bot without a good wedge. Would be extremely fast so maybe it could pull a Storm 2... or a Rage III. Flip Of The Coin: Haha, derp. I was going to criticize the Biohazard arms but it seems the rear of the arm doesn't collide with the ground like it realistically should. Probably still not a good flipper choice though. Could do with stabilizers and looking less like a mobile sausage. And better wheels. Little Boxer 2: Decent. It's slow but it's sturdy. Might be a bit too high up (high ground clearance) Blood Pool 20: It's not going to find many victims with a wedge that steep. Dr. Tumbles: The weapons are far too weak for HW. You should fix the tumbling even if it loses the point of it's name. If it was decent though you could keep it as you make other bots tumble. Duble Check: Too weak for HW, those motors are very exposed... the extenders are too brittle to be trusted like you are. The spinner Eteks make this a very slow design when it can be so much faster. Speedy: You forgot to wire an Etek motor. Can't deny it's name. Jackhammer: Has a horrible turning circle because of how long it is. Could be a lot shorter. Too many air tanks and batteries. Circlatronic: Pretty smooth drive but tribars are extremely weak in DSL. A bit tall, and the batteries need to be changed. Consider changing the motor to a Tornado Mer 4 mag. Devil's Thorn: Needs better protection. WTF Floating Arms!: Don't know what to say. Guess it's a jokebot. Thunderstruck!: Probably your most combat worthy. A bit dodgy but it should be alright against some bots. 814

I was going to try this out too but there's an occasional problem where RA2 runs so slowly bots aren't even loaded in the botlab (Graphically, but they are actually loaded) and when testing bots they appear, however the engine is pretty much running at 0 FPS. Literally. No movement.
It'll have to wait. 817

Admittedly I think I'm a candidate too. Predating BBEANS1 and some decent building as of late. Seem to recall CB saying he considered ranking me up on my return but there wasn't much to my name at the time or something. Not exactly one to remember these things.

It really depends on what the title is. If everyone's was the same, yes. If they were all different.. well, it wouldn't have the same effect still, but it's still tuned to your tastes.
If everybody was an admin.. not including the chaos there'd be, the point of being an admin would be ruined. Speaking of titles there's probably a few plain members who deserve AU. |
