I would check it's right with someone else, just as some sort of verification. I'm not very good at trusting my own results.

Do you actually have a teacher who can explain this stuff to you?
Unfortunately, no, she just confuses me even more

Either way, thanks for the help. The workings really helped me a lot :>

You need to clearly tell your teacher to go through examples and things, so that confusion does not occur. Also, I originally didn't put the workings down, so it was lucky I double-checked my post :P

Q1: £240.37, I think...acountants feel free to correct me. Working: ((Ans-35)*1.02), where Ans is initially the initial bill value.
Q2: 2 months, I think. ((Ans-(Ans*0.15))*1.04), where Ans is initially the initial bill value.

Eh, I can't deal with stuff that's just numbers. I'm pretty epic at algerbra with final numeric values. I don't like leaving everything in variables. I can also do Calculus and complex numbers relatively easily. I hated this percentage shiz when I used to do it.

Also, I can do a lot of VBA, because I have been doing it constantly for the past year.

I run a debug test and it gives me an IndexOutOfRangeException and says "Index was outside the bounds of the array"

Here's my full code, btw

Public Class Form1

    Private Sub btnStart_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnStart.Click
        '====================
        'Coursework 2012 Program
        'by Student 09001219
        '08/03/2012
        '====================

        'Calling elements and arrays
        '====================
        Dim valid As Boolean
        Dim i As Integer
        Dim n As Integer
        Dim name(i) As String
        Dim lap1(i) As Integer
        Dim lap2(i) As Integer

        'Get valid number of runners
        '====================
        valid = False
            While valid = False
                i = InputBox("Input a number between 2 and 8")
                If i >= 2 Then
                    If i <= 8 Then
                        valid = True
                    End If
                End If
        End While

        'Loop for number of runners
        '====================
        For n = 1 To i
            'Get runner's name
            '====================
            name(n) = InputBox("Input runner " & n & "'s name")

            'Get a time for each lap
            '====================
            lap1(n) = InputBox("Input the time for " & name(n) & "'s first lap")
            lap2(n) = InputBox("Input the time for " & name(n) & "'s second lap")
        Next
        MsgBox("This is one of those boxes you get that proves you've got this far without issue")
    End Sub
End Class

OK, start by removing that messagebox that's there to prove it's there. A far simpler way is to click on the grey tab to the side of each line of code where you want it to make sure it's at. The line will turn red when it's highlighted. What will then happen is the program will pause, the code will show, and you can check it's there and/or hover the mouse over variables to check their values.

Now, I would suggest doing this at any point where there is an 'n' integer or 'i' integer in that line of code. When the program stops at each line, check the values of the integers in this line to make sure they don't equal something out of range (eg. 0, -1, etc.). If they do, a '+1' needs to go somewhere, or a value somewhere in the code needs to be changed.

If the problem isn't one of the values being out of the array's defined range, then PM me the code with the debugged line highlighted, and I'll see if something else is amiss.

EDIT: I feel so stupid now. Your array needs to be defined as between certain values, eg. names(1 to 8)
(sorry I didn't notice this. I was too busy playing Skyrim...)

Not to mention the LiveStream recordings available on the front page, and his public announcement and exhibition of its development at MineCon.

We play Incredibots, Gropaga. We know what's happening with it.

Yeah, but when you have to make a system to introduce one of many robots into the arena, there can't be too many robots.
Also, IB3 has water and bombs, and those are just a small percentage of many features being introduced.

Go to the Robot Wars wiki, and go to series one, and then look through all the competitive bots. I will update the first post with any bots I have already recieved.

OK, this one is at the top of my list:
The Alesis Vortex
It's above the Roland AX-Synth only because it's a decent price. But still, the Vortex has a lot going for it.

I did the best in my Computing, out of my mocks, and that was the one I was worried most about. 2 and a half hours of an exam with two essays and 16 other questions. This is the stuff that suicides are made of.

C2: 84%
...this is what I get for doing maths stuff early.

Also, Porshe is coming in May:

This post:
I have made the club on FM4 - now making a car with a GTM colour scheme to share on it. The club is called GameTechMotorsport, the tag is GTM5. My XBL name is DANW1904, so if you could send a request to join the club, rather than post your XBL names here, that would be helpful.
and the rest of page 4.

reading is useful.

Which Justin Bieber hater wouldn't.  I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THIS TEACHER AS WELL!!!

Um...yeah, there was only one reply, H.A.
Plus, you can't just post a video with no comment of your own and expect people to take immediate interest. For example, I posted about the ucoming release of a new incredirobotwars series, but didn't expect everyone to immediately reply 'DAT IS SO AWESOME!!1!!'. This sort of thing happens on forums. Deal with it.

On a more light-hearted subject:

You are forced to rid the world of the Portal series and any sequels, or the Half Life series and any sequels.

Which do you choose?
Get rid of Portal. Half-Life is more intricate in plot, and has more variety, despite being in a different gaming area.

On another note, I'm remaking the incredirobotwars series. The information about this is on the new incredirobotwars series thread.

Existing Games / The Incredirobotwars series returns!

I've decided. I will make one more game in incredibots 2 before I release a new series when incredibots 3 is released. It will have interchangeable bots for each side, a spike trap (with activation button) and pits opening after a certain time. If you wish to be part of the creation crew for the new series, send me a PM of your own robot wars robot creation from series 1, and the successful ones will be placed in the incredibots 2 final game.

I am aiming for all robot creations to have standard controls, like so:
P1:
a - left
d - right
w - flipper (if applicable, and flipper should retract with grav.)
e - front weapon (if applicable)
q - rear weapon (if applicable)
P2:
j - left
l - right
i - flipper (if applicable, and flipper should retract with grav.)
u - front weapon (if applicable)
o - rear weapon (if applicable)

I only switched it because of this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSgiXGELjbc&feature=player_embedded#
Which reminded me of his epicness. Once I find where the IRW logo is saved, I will change it back.

Hint: it's not saved on the computer I'm using atm.
