Chatterbox / American GTM member gathering« on: May 26, 2012, 07:01:43 PM »
I know, stealing from IRW, but the idea popped into my head sometime ago. If we were able to pull it off, what would you guys approve of as a meeting place/time/weather?

I think Robot Wars decisions are more controversial (and butthurt, for that matter) because they can be done intentionally simply to create drama.

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Controversial Judges' Decisions« on: May 26, 2012, 10:37:35 AM »What about Nightmare vs Battlerat? And yet Whirligig's driver can take it after about 15 hits from the pulverizer after he tapped out. 810
Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Controversial Judges' Decisions« on: May 26, 2012, 10:32:02 AM »What about Nightmare vs Battlerat? As controversial as that was, the Battlerat guys were total - about it. Vertigo: Foul language removed 811

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Battle Shots« on: May 24, 2012, 09:25:34 PM »I display: WiggleWheels!hey, where's the bot? i can't see it.(and make your own showcase so that we can make your bot better) It's the box with the 4 sledgehammers on it. And most likely this is a bot that is just for fun and not a "showcase bot". 813
Tournament Archives / Re: Battlebots 5: Splash, Brackets, and Videos« on: May 24, 2012, 05:25:41 PM »
Because I had the Firestorm flippers to give it frontal weight and the hammers were either not fast enough or not heavy enough to bring the bot into a spin.

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Music/Movie reviews you disagree with« on: May 24, 2012, 05:24:59 PM »I don't think Nineteen Eighty-Four deserves as much credit as it's gotten. I did like the book 1984 better than the movie. Haven't seen Brave New World, should look for that. 815
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Music/Movie reviews you disagree with« on: May 24, 2012, 05:14:25 PM »Movies that I like that everyone else hates / go unnoticed: have you seen, like, eight movies? 816
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Music/Movie reviews you disagree with« on: May 23, 2012, 07:02:20 PM »I disagree with all bad Saw reviews. I don't think so, and I especially hate when people call it "torture porn". No, HOSTEL was torture. Even if you don't agree with Jigsaw's methods, the movies weren't made just to see people get killed. They have a very precise storyline, and even with some mistakes, it holds together pretty well. And those ending sequences, man. BUT YOU SHOULD POST A REVIEW BECAUSE I DON'T BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE SAID ANYTHING BAD ABOUT IT 817
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Music/Movie reviews you disagree with« on: May 23, 2012, 06:52:24 PM »I'm just giving you advice, dude! I see what you're saying (btw you're overreacting more than i am), but I still posted something that comes up with interesting discussions instead of getting the "LURK MOAR" and going through 10 pages of Movies and Music to find the thread and then getting slammed with "stop reviving old threads" where something we could have actually talked about is disregarded. 818
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Music/Movie reviews you disagree with« on: May 23, 2012, 06:46:08 PM »Maybe you should read thread titles and first post descriptions before posting random lists, K? Sorry. How long do you think my jail sentence should be? 819
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Music/Movie reviews you disagree with« on: May 23, 2012, 06:37:47 PM »Anyone can just say 'I like this, but everyone else hates it!' ..and anyone can go and find a review for it. I mentioned a lot of movies, I'm not going to go find every single one, but I'll pick out a couple: Delta Farce http://www.cinemablend.com/reviews/Delta-Farce-2287.html Jumper http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1713836,00.html Bill & Ted II http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117789261?refcatid=31 The Cable Guy http://movies.tvguide.com/cable-guy/review/131632 http://www.timeout.com/film/reviews/68698/the_cable_guy.html 820
