Existing Games / Planet Explorers

It looks like a combination of Rawbots and Everquest Next Landmark. For those who don't know, Everquest Next Landmark is like a combination of Minecraft and Everquest. From the alpha footage, it looks like you gather materials and build stuff. There was also some sort of screen that looked like the Robot Arena 2 building screen. One of the kickstarter goals was to make your own AI robots so it looks pretty awesome.

Existing Games / Rawbots Game Dead?
« on: May 22, 2014, 06:23:00 PM »
There was this really cool game a couple years ago: rawbots.net that let you create and program all sorts of robots. You could create awesome scenarios and just have a blast, even if you completely sucked at the complex programming system. You could download bots online and such.

Though over the past year and a half the devs haven't posted any updates for the game. They went bankrupt and had to start working for other companies to get the necessary profits to make the game possible. It is looking pretty dead right now, but with some extra community attention the game could revive itself.

I was directed to this game by Nerdcubed too, and think this looks an awesome game.
I am currently attempting to buy the game, with not much luck, anyone know where to buy it? The official website is broken...
The Nerdcubed video will hopefully bring roboteering gaming back to life, which will be good :)

Can't wait to enter my first tournament...

It's impossible to buy it now - just download the version you want from here

You can actually still get it on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Robot-Arena-Design-Destroy-PC/dp/B00007M5CW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395782380&sr=8-1&keywords=Robot+arena+2 but still just download it on the wiki.

I found online that if you name a robot cheatbot2 then click off you get a few new awesome components including a flamethrower, hoverthingie, and cannon. I just wanted to know if whether nobody or everybody knew about this.

I actually saw a newer video from NerdCubed about robot wars and in it he said that he really wished there was a robot wars game with full on destruction. I was so hopefully he'd find Robot Arena 2. When I remembered RA2 (hadn't played it for years) I really wanted to play it again so I found it and played a bit. Started having some issues so I followed the arrows online and they led me here to fix my problems. Then, a couple weeks later Nerdcubed fulfills my wish and finally finds RA2.

I really hope as well that his video brings these forums and this game to more attention again. I remember a thread somewhere where someone suggested buying the rights or source or whatever. Well Nerdcubed is a famous youtuber, so he's very good at persuading people to fund things. This could mean getting better software or RA3 if he and his fans wants it.

After one day Nerdcubed's video is the highest viewed RA2 video on youtube. This is going to seriously impact this forum's future. Our income of members has been multiplied by 20-40 over the past couple days.

My one problem with the gaming experience (for the moment at least) is loads of crashes and bugs. No I don't mean glitches for all you professionals, I mean like gamebreaking bugs that are just plain annoying.

That and going to events seems to fix it.

Yes, I do a lot. That's most likely the answer. There aren't any known fixes for it?

General Support / Hitboxes Breaking Randomly
« on: March 16, 2014, 11:26:49 PM »
Every once and a while the hitboxes on everything in the workshop seem to break, making it near impossible to attach things. Like I have to keep moving it back and forth as it flickered, looking like it's connected, for a millisecond. Takes me like a minute to finally get it into the sweet spot and place the hammer on the extender. Also while wiring the components up I have to click in a random sweet spot to get the wiring screen to pop up.

I forfeited the event and everything is going on as normal, but I just want to know if there's a fix for this for future reference.

I'm in the last event of the season and I'm in the second match, but whenever I try to resume the event the game crashes right after the countdown. It's the square arena that's completely flat with a bunch of traps in the middle. The bot I'm using is attached to this post.
