Yes both sides are AGOGed down pretty much the same amount to offset the snapper connector being pushed up by the weight/tension/torque. In testing seemed to help as much as any hurt from the effect so I left it. Starcore

27HS ? While it is excellently built, I don't think that's enough weapons to last compared to most rammers or standard 36HS...
Anyways, I'm off going to make my .py for this.
Your mileage may vary but in AI vs AI testing as shown T-888 Terminator bested the 36HS ULTIMATUM 2010 edition 14 out of 16 tests and every Rammer I could throw against it, defeating them in under 50 seconds each. Still doesn't mean it will do as well in the Ironbot rounds and the 30 second rounds have impact on one's tactics. We will see, Starcore

Starcore, you should use Rubber wheels instead of Grannies. They have a larger collision mesh, meaning they will still provide invertibility while becoming smaller targets and looking better as well. Also, it might be beneficial to use the snapper loading glitch to attach the drive motors on the inside point of the 40cm (see that little bit of extender we can see before it enters the batteries? attach them there). This will give the motors slightly more protection as well as allow you to rotate the drive motors flush with the ground, creating less ground clearance and making it tougher on those pesky popups. The last thing would be that the backs of ramplates have never seemed very sturdy to me (perhaps I'm wrong here, but that's what I found in my experience). So, I think it would be beneficial to move the side ramplates back a bit if possible. The weight gain from the other modifications should be enough for another couple extenders.
Some good suggestions. Will play with the Rubber Wheels and as I look at it I may have a connect points along the central connect 40cms extenders that I will play with. I agree with making the Motors more flush with the ground as a result. As to the Backs of the Ram Plates, I have not done specific testing to confirm but have not had negative using them this way and I deeply liked the trapping effect of the corners. Starcore

Nature of the tourney changes the type of bot that might do well. 30 second survive with minimal damage is a very different way to build. So a durable bot from earlier times might do very well this time around.

I hope this doesn't totally mess up anyone's entry for this... but if it does, that's why we have discussion threads posted 1+ month in advance.
I've been thinking, and with a creative chassis shape, it is still possible to make an almost impenetrable front with only 8 casters. But it's pretty much impossible with 6. Therefore, I am reducing the maximum number of casters allowed from 8 to 6.
I don't want bots with impenetrable armor. I'm only allowing casters to patch up small holes in your defense, or to toughen up the corners on your bot a little bit, or add some decent gut-ripper defense, or (gasp!) actually use them as intended for balance. Otherwise this tournament would have the potential to go on indefinitely.
I used 3 casters for rounding out balance. People will see why, soon enough... Starcore

Dawned on me that rule:
4.2 All legal bots received during that time will be accepted; there is no limit on the number of entries.
Does not mean more than one entry per person. So I probably do not need to push to remake Warmachine to fit the 6 caster max rule.
I did do more testing of my entry and it has been beating a solid 36HS design from last year, 18 out of 20 matches (your mileage may vary and another 36HS could still consistently beat my entry, oh well). Like any tournament though, could lose wheels early on, could get unlucky pair up with another HS design early in the match ups and both lose most of their weapons, could on a quirk Havok out of the arena. Anything could happen. Looking forward to the videos. I like this format Clickbeetle, should make for some fun matches (and represents people fixing their bots to the best of their ability between rounds). In my testing my entry could take out many types of HW opposition in 40 to 60 seconds from a few years ago but often not in less than 30 seconds. So other designs that just focus on just surviving might do much better.

I am again years out of practice but thought to send the last updated bot I worked on.
Will see if I am still at least semi-competitive.
Clickbeetle, let me know if I submitted wrong or committed some error in the bot or AI.
I would submit War Machine as well for the fun of it but it has too many casters. (Will have to see if I can adjust that fast enough)

When I made Starcore v3 I had a size limit on the how much space I could use to host files and by using WinRar could just barely make it fit. That and back then many members were using modems so shrinking it as much as possible was critical and WinRar of the time offered better compression than WinZip. Thank you for sticking up for me and mine. Some forget that Starcore v1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 were created 7 years ago and I would hope people have learned a few new building techniques since then. Also many novice bot builders don't understand the difference between Human driven vs AI driven bots. AI driven bots can be fast and aggressive but most any decent human driver can get around them and exploit any weakness or alternate methods of attack (up to and including run away till the AI bot runs low on power). I am proud of Tempest Fugit 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th across the years and many of the other bots in the Starcore packs. Proud to have stimulated so many bot builders. Appreciate the vote of confidence. Because said tournaments wont accept a robot that just sits there, and kills the other robot upon contact?
I have recommended over the years, and this is true for Bumble Balls, Glitch Bots, some Sit'n'Spinners and other types of Weapons for wheels bots, if it cannot chase down a stationary Dummy Bot before timeout occurs it is very questionable on showing controlled movement. Starcore

I have watched people settle into a couple camps over the years. Usually Pop-ups and HS. Seems people forget that optimized for one type of combat means likely vulnerable to other types of combat. Pop-ups generally attack under or front while most HS rely on attacking sides and ripping off opponents components. I made Warmachine to show that Rammers have room for innovation and can do well with Caster Armor for side and under defense. If I can find the time will pull out my Scorpion design to show off Ram Plate Trap with over-the-top damage. For variation in HS I showed off my T-800 Update awhile back with multi Ram Plate front grid. And I still think bots like Alien Queen have lots of room for combat effectiveness knocking opponents up and away. Think out of the box. As for thinking out of the box, nothing wrong with tournaments in Arenas with No Sides, Low Sides, Center Pit(s), variable ground clearance and/or Poles to greatly shake up what is effective and what is not. Yep, takes less than 2 minutes to change Starcore V4 AW Riptide from 3 Iron Spikes to +1 Extender and 4 Razor Tips. Good change up. Starcore

When we were creating DSL I had already released two highly successful versions of the Starcore packs and Darkrat had completed multiple component packs and a gorgeous set of RA2 Replicas of many of the most impressive bots of Battlebots and Robot Wars. He was on his way out of the RA2 scene, highly frustrated that people frequently considered his parts cheat parts because of a lack of standards. His replicas were in majority initially 'picture bots'. Many with no or only token internals. I suggested we do a pack standardizing expanded parts based on Real Life components and replica bots. The AceUplink group had done some gorgeous looking replicas in their Battlebots pack but many of the bots were not balanced component levels and shell strengths. We wanted to take RA2 to the next level and get it a greater range of parts standardized. Lu-Tze had also been an innovator that was on the way out. She had cracked the code on wheels and made some fantastic arenas. We brought her into the team. It was our Swan Song gift to the RA2 community. As to the naming. The projected started off to show off Darkrats replicas and parts so I leaned towards having his initial first. I was project CEO, AI Lead, populated most the internals, initial pack creation and testing vs the Starcore bots (the Starcore bots kept beating the DSL bots in early revs) and Lu-Tze was primarily Arenas. With Lu-Tze being very ill we had thought of having her initial first but felt LSD (known drug) or LDS (nick name initials of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) did not work well as a name. We settled with DSL (this was before Digital Subscriber Lines were a popular way of getting budget broadband Internet access). We had considered adding TC for Total Conversion to the mix but at the time since much of the core engine was still there and we did not have access to changing some of the key elements we were a bit cautious about requiring that part. Since as it has grown many are comfortable calling it a TC. So most times it is known as the quick and easy to remember DSL and also valid to call it the DSL TC. Starcore
