I don’t know how many days I have left but I’m going to send a prototype without smartzones to enigma as a backup in case I don’t get a full version finished.

For the love of god do NOT use the Robogames system of configs. A single mistake with the configs can completely ruin a run, and that's especially an issue when you haven't even seen how your opponent fights. If (for some ungodly reason) the poll decides that you are using the robogames system, PLEASE make sure that as long as you are given enough notice we are allowed to change configs if we realise we have made a mistake.

Honestly I don't see the point of any of them excepting the dual hammers or dual typhoon teeth. Why not put that effort into making a cool new bot, rather than tacking different bits onto your nearly year old ring spinner?

I’m all for having many configs and gradual improvements on previous bots but at this point you should just either move on from this design or make a sequel.

I can't delete my previous post, because as you may know if you use the discord, I've got to have my posts approved by moderators and that means I cannot modify or delete them.

But I digress.

Badger, can we agree to amend the rules so that the robots in this challenge must be AI'd? I'm not having Enigma drive both robots simultaneously: you cannot focus on two things at the same time. That's A-level psychology for you.

I know that some rules aren't always clear like whether or not in the absence of time rules the matches should go without time limit, but I think that unless stated otherwise you should always AI robots for challenges.

The robots in this are top notch.

I think some sort of music would help tho.

FYI, as much as it should be painfully obvious, the robots in this fight should be AI'd.

I'll see about finding a suitable extension for playing sounds effects sometime after RA3 is launched. I'm pretty busy right now organizing things all across GTM and I need time to play around with the extension before it goes public.

can papa apanx pls do this (if it hasn't been done already) because it might be neat.

also if video can be embedded in some way that'd also be neato

i find them redundant. a users wiki page should already detail their accomplishments and therefore their success. same applies to users who've been bad eggs/controversy. id rather efforts were focused on keeping fear and respect up to date/accurate instead, or the tourney page. im sure there are tourneys out there who still arent documented. Robogames itself is no small feat, Battlebots still isnt done (admittedly on me for not finishing what i start).

imo we should fix what the wiki already has before we implement anything new

Time to restore this sh**.

A rough list of stuff that needs updating:

The main page is totally ****ing useless.
All articles that refer to DSL balance probably need updating, because IIRC they all will partain to DSL 2.2.
Retooled hasn't got a page. (
The Lumazone hasn't a page.
The tournament champions article needs updating.
BOTM winners needs updating.

There's probably more but I haven't the time to do a full, proper list as I should be doing revision right now.

Let's get our sh** together and improve the wiki, because people should be able to use it instead of asking questions her or in the discord, and in the state it is in it's not capable of doing that.

Also making it more professional by re-assigning the Wiki Mod task and maybe reinstating/replacing the Fear and Respect rating system would be a big help but that relies on Trovaner getting involved.

Let's make the Wiki relevant again, instead of bemoaning the fact it isn't relevant.

Also, if you think something isn't detailed well on the wiki or hasn't got a page that is important, say so.

Just chipping in a little bit is appreciated.

Let's try and do this again. Our progress was massively halted by the bug that prevented log ins, but now it's fixed we haven't an excuse.

First, let's detail everything that's inaccurate, old or non-existant. Then we can replace Fear and Respect with some new stats, perhaps even setting a new Wiki Mod who only specialises in the wiki, then deopinion the user pages.

If we can get a wiki page on what needs updating and fixing, that would be great.

Let's get this wiki sorted.

an unbiased wiki mod sounds like an excellent idea actually

tbh even a biased wiki mod would work considering they'd be outranked by all the other staff. i'd ****ing love to do it, especially because i can do it practically every day in my school breaks and lunches. it also would free up the rest of the potential mods for more important endeavours such as challenge board moderating, tournament moderating, et cetera.

The hell are controversy and success ratings?
Simple.
Controversy ratings are how controversial a person is (how oftena re they banned, muted, flame wars caused, their actions etc.), and Success ratings are how successful they have been when it comes to RA2 tournaments and matches. For example, ty4er would have a high success rating for winning GTMCS, but a low controversy because really the worst thing he's done is use frequency rams and that's it.

It's not like Fear and Respect are any better, in fact they're more vague about users.

If you don't want to bother with keeping them up to date, leave them to me.

me see no update for few days, me start to worry about tournament....
He's got to record all the fights which tbh will take about six tries per match due to how buggy dsl 2.2 is, has to edit it all together, find music, upload it and also has a life outside of gtm.
As desperate as I am to see my robots fight we gotta wait son. Steel yourself, my metaphorical brethren.

Honestly the two teeth being seperated so clearly, the LED and teeth not quite fitting the extender, and the fact that the seperated teeth feel weapon spammy kinda ruin it. Just drop from 2 teeth per side to 1 and it'll be perfect.

I feel like running a tournament. I also feel too lazy to make my own rules. If anybody has any favourite cancelled or abandoned tournament they'd like to see taken over finished, let me know. I'll see what the consensus is and I'll finish or reboot the tournament, depending on if enough of the original entries are obtainable.
I've been having a few ideas:
LvD but with 3/4 teams

YES.
