Hopefully Robogames, but there's always Clash of the bots in the Summer. By then, I hope to have Killing Joke and Obsidian ready to go by then.
Other thing, has anybody used this motor? I was thinking of sticking it into Obsidian(Blade is going to be 6"x2"x.25" steel) 84

Is the wedge on the second bot only held on by 2 screws? The wedge has only two screws right now because I miss drilled the holes and I ran out of 6-32 screws. Once I fix the miss placed holes I'll go with a pair of socket cap screws. 85

While I was gone I did an antweight, and worked to complete another.

Wouldn't it wobble? The weapons center of mass is still in the center, allowing it to stay stable while spinning. This allows for one toothed weapons, allowing for more bite at higher RPMs. 88

I'm hoping I can make it with a full fleet of insects next year. I've got Speeder as a complete ant, a new ant, Inch-Up made from a Fingertech kit in the POP stage, a fairy VS and beetleweight HS in the pipeline. Again, hopeful right now.

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Not all motors can spin in both directions?« on: October 19, 2015, 07:53:41 PM »
Brushed DC motors can be biased to spin in one direction faster than the other(Either due to design or discrepancies in manufacturing) referred to as motor timing. On some motors, the difference is inconsequential, but on others, they can spin noticeably faster in one direction than the other to effect performance drastically, to the point that the manufacturer might recommend one direction over the other. The arrow on the PERM refers to what its timed for(CCW). You can reverse the motor direction like you would with a regular brushed DC motor, it just won't spin as fast. You can alter the motor timing by messing with the brushes, but unless you're an experienced electrical engineer and have a strong notion of what you're doing, I don't recommend it.
The differences in timing are only noticeable in two wheeled bots, which are more vulnerable to minor wheel speed changes. Four wheeled bots and onward are a lot less vulnerable to motor differences. Also, why are you looking at the PERM? Its a terrible motor for combat. 92

Shiny wheels are the best wheel all around.
Grannies are good at making bots invertable, and thats about it Rubbers are the best for wedges. Best on pop-ups, though I've had success on jugglers and vertical spinners. All the other wheels might as well not exist. 93

Ugh, picture quality.

I don't know why you would do that, all it does it eat weight that could be better served with one more powerful spinner. The only place they be effective at all would be sportsman classes.

Most of those bots are over ten years old. In today's standards, they might as well be made from tissue paper.

Perfect Effect parts are optional on it, too.(Image removed from quote.) If you want a Computron, you're out of luck. Hasbro confirmed at Botcon that they will not make the Technobots, so you either have to hope for a Takara Compucon, or go third party(MaketoysQuantron and Warbotron's version are the only two choices) 98
