If i knew that bot I maybe would. Can i find it in the RA2 Wiki?

Never mind, i found it. Russian roulette's bot you're talking about right? In that case, not even close. I intend to build a bot where the opponents would actually spin around inside the drum and it does just that. 7337H doesn't even have a drum, just a disc with an angle

Sorry for the long wait but i had more important things to organize in my "new" PC than the game itself  :rolleyes:

1st monster bot for my new RA2:

This heavily armored beast is very efficient against most bots. The opponents will sometimes roll and spin inside the drum and it can tear them apart very quickly and easily. Exposed wheels are usually the first components to come off. It's weakest point is the bots' underbelly, which makes it vulnerable to flippers and specially popup bots. I didn't cover it because it would reduce it's speed and agility performance due to too much weight. It has those bars sticking out of the bot to avoid being flipped and make the bot stable. It has 2 burst motors that fire backwards. They can sometimes help damaging and uprighting the bot but it doesn't work most of the time.

>Powerful and very efficient
>Tough
>Very stable bot for such a huge drum spinner weapon

>Average speed and agility
>Hard to flip but if it happens, it will most likely never going to upright itself 80% of time
>Weak underbelly

oh you send it in for repair?

Yeah I guess they are gone for good........  Tech guys will not recover files for you from a defective machine, it's just too much work.  They just gonna replace defective parts and format your machine, then tell you you lose all your files.

The truth is, if you know anything about forensic, you know that files really don't disappear that easily....

Yeah, I thought about that. They managed to save the "desktop" and "My Documents" folders but it's not much

http://www.piriform.com/recuva pls

Once the PC is formatted, those software types won't work anymore

Everything's lost. All proof of my creations are now in this showcase, except for the ones put in the exchange and the 3 working walkers. The walkers have been given to martymidget because he had an idea on how to AI them. He's the only one with the walkers still available to play with.

Well, now I'm definitely forced to stop building. I'm using a friend's computer to write this message because mine just died or nearly, it keeps on rebooting. It was said that it has to do with the hard drive, which in turn means that I'll possibly lose everything.
I'm sending it for repairs today, lets see how it goes.

\(°o° \) Omigod look an awesome bot!

Dude you need to stay here more, you must, YOU MUST!

I guess your request worked the other way around, m8  :mrgreen: :rolleyes:

You have an imaginative style of building which I like. Benediction is my fave so far, all good though.

Thanks a lot, m8. I must say your designs are also very original, you keep them always deadly and pretty at the same time.

Thanks all for nice comments :smile:

That looks great, how does it move? Are they two big wheels?

Yes, the outward shell basically work as wheels. It moves but not so great as real wheels. We can say it's a crawler

As promised here it is free of AGOD during battles (thank god). A Shield in shield, thus its name. This bot is extremely well protected! To reach the chassis the opponent first needs to clear the outward shell weapons, then the panels, then the inward shell weapons and then its panels. Unless of course, it successfully takes out the disks that hold the half shell, which i doubt :rolleyes:. All 4 half shell move and are powered by 4 TWM3R2 motors. The inward half shell are only set to spin in opposite directions while the outward ones are set for driving as well, forward, backwards, left, right. Also the outward shield can open/close as shown in pics 2 and 3. Closed facilitates mad spinning while open helps driving. Finally it has "just" 32 flamethrowers.  :mrgreen:

>Outstanding armor!
>A LOT of weapons!
>May not win a battle by destroying the opponent but will certainly win from points;
>Invulnerable to immobilization.

>Like all spherical type bots, it's possible but very hard to control it;
>Flamethrower fuel is spent very fast.

That's weird.  Deleted component should never show a collision after a restart.  I mean the bot file is saved in plain text and to have removed the component but still have the collision isn't plausible.  Some other side panel must have a really bad Agod moment.

Anyway there's a very easy way to fix this.  Hit the PAUSE button on your keyboard (which should pause the game and the music) before you load the bot.

Thanks will try.

Simplest solution ever! Thanks a million! I'll post this bot officially soon.

thats agod son

How come? AGOD has to do with axles and motors flying away, not fixed parts. The bot is NOT flying around when tested. It does work well but the deleted components are still shown

Ummm.... Ok so i was designing this new bot called "Inception" and i came across some weird bug here. I kept on attaching and removing those big black angled side panels to attach the flamethrowers on the inside shield. When i finished and started reattaching the angled panels, 2 of them although deleted, are still shown with the F12 mode and apparently the game still thinks there's something there and i can't put anything because of components collision.

I tried removing the components that held the angled panels but now they also show up in the F12 mode as existent. I tried restarting the game twice, aside from 5 minutes loading and bot errors that bug isn't gone yet. I think my bots are driving the game insane.

Please tell me i don't have to restart from scratch  :dead:

I hope you stay for longer this time.

Unfortunately it doesn't work that way, m8. First because i have to concentrate on studies at this time and second because inspiration is most needed. When i spend all inspiration and ideas I stop. If i don't, the quality of the bots would drop big time.

Here's another design. I tried to make a bike that could be battle effective. But unfortunately it will only be here for looks. It has powerful weapons and it's very fast but even with a fully working rotating front "wheel" it has no agility whatsoever. It takes a lot of time to turn, which in turn removes all of its effectiveness. It can take out some bots but not enough for me to consider it good for battle.

Both pretty cool looking bots you have there, does Hell Gazer tip easily? And does it have a srimech?

For the 1st question, actually no. It's very stable and the wheel configuration allows a slower controlled turning that won't flip it over. It is well balanced even for a long bot. I might dare to say that it's perfect. A little more speed would make it tip over easily on turning. A little bit slower would ruin it's average agility.
For the 2nd question, yes it has. I already mentioned in the description. But i didn't know that the gadget was called srimech. However it's not by using burst motors as usual but by using the pistons' power to upright it. i'll try to remember that word for future bots.

i bet the razer claw hammer completely rapes shell spinners ?

Yup and it does it so nicely

Hi all! I'm back, but not for long. My disappearances will be a usual thing so don't bother. :baffled:
I hope everyone enjoyed the summer holidays!

since my last post I've been away from RA2 until today when i had a bot idea that was stuck into my head. shortly after another mad bot idea came along.

But before posting my bots, Clickbeetle, Yes i did deduce that using wheels as feet would make it easier for walkers to walk. However I tried without them in other bots just because it seemed ugly, that's all  :smile:. As an insect lover i tend to build long and skinny bots and i tried making spike like feet just to make more skinny and disturbing looking walker bots. But i had no success doing it precisely because of the lack of friction as you mentioned.

Originally built for the rule of cool, this bot has proven to excel in combat. Instead of competing against other wedge bots for top wedginess, this one will gladly climb on to the other bots dealing a lot of damage with its 4 medium2 pistons and razor spikes. Surprisingly the very design of the bot makes it very efficient against most spinner bots. A thing that i didn't count on.

>Very fast and stable even with the weird wheel configuration;
>Plentiful and powerful armament;
>The chassis is relatively safe from damage;
>By turning a weakness into a strong point it is able to deal with a lot of different bots;
>Able to upright itself if flipped by using the left or right pistons independently, the momentum of the firing pistons is enough to upright to bot back on its wheels.

>Poorly protected wheels;
>Very long bot with slow turning.

And now a merciless monster made in a very short time mostly for fun actually. Quite a simple design in my opinion but TOO DAMN POWERFUL! If This thing is able to out wedge the opponent into the killing area it's hardly believable that it will survive. However it isn't that efficient.

>Powerful as heck! Amazing killing power!
>Fast;
>Good wedginess.

>Even with 6 wheels and nice motors it has slow turning;
>Very large wide and clumsy bot makes it hard to get the opponents if they get behind;
>Very ineffective against popup bots because of their combined speed and super wedginess. (6 different popup bots were used and all were replayed at least one time, Benediction lost all battles against them)

i think he was just building it [popup] for rule of cool (like his other bots) and not max efficiency

That is correct. I know i exaggerated in the description. The "popup" bot as you say it isn't that tough but it is able to withstand a lot of damage and remain intact. It wasn't made to survive every type of opponent, it has obvious limitations. When i post bots that aren't made to fight i clearly state that in the description ("Energy core" is one example). In this case it is reasonably effective in battle so it's my fault for overpowering it in the description.

I don't have much experience with flails but i think there is no harm in giving ideas. I see that pretty much everyone is against flails in this case but it's just an opinion.

New bot designed to be insane.

This bot had a previous version, which i soon upgraded to the current one

The biggest motor of the game powers the entire structure. 4 TWM3 weapon motors turn independently 4 simple bars while other 4 spin bars with dsl hammers 2 on each end. These all spin in an apparently mad way but to avoid unbalancing the bot, 4 spin in 1 direction and the other 4 in the opposite. To make matters worse, besides the hex plate protection and razor tips it has 16 flamethrowers. I was not able to reduce the weight to 1200kg because then it wouldn't be a mad bot as i planned it to be.

Btw, armor is titanium 5mm and that weird pole in the center of the structure is not ornamental but it helps the bot to upright itself if it gets flipped.

>Hard hitter
>Lots and lots of weapons for multiple targets
>fast and very agile
>tough armor
>repels opponents weapons with ease

>If wedgy bots successfully pass the inferno, they can easily flip and damage the chassis if they have the right weapon for it.
>Too much torque spins the chassis as well and disables its ability to move decently.
>Sometimes it tends to be a bit jumpy at higher speeds compromising the chassis for wedgy bots.

It all depends on where you put them and how you attach them- for example (forgive the terrible splash)

(Image removed from quote.)

Wider bots are generally better than skinnier bots for the type you've built, but feel free to prove me wrong :P

Cool splash m8  :mrgreen:
You bot is awesome! It must be super fast and agile also.
I think i can't consider which is better. Yours searches for superior agility and speed but it's vulnerable. Mine is a lumbering tank made not for speed but to survive and damage opponents just by ramming them in any direction.

Both have opposite weaknesses and advantages. I'm not sure if i can consider which one is best at its job.

Very nice looking can you upload it onto the botexchange please?

I'm very sorry m8. I kept forgetting your request. It's now in the Exchange, have fun  :smile:
