Yeah, at this point I'm mostly just trying whatever idea pops into my head. The flamethrower bot is very effective, and does have some spikes on the back, though AI-ing it to spin around late in the match and go for the chassis might be tough.

I was thinking I might make a poster and throw darts at it.

That sounds fun. I should really get to working on some LWs and see if anything can beat what I've already got. Should be fun to see what I can come up with while on Vicodin.

I'm sure you'll find a way :P
It'd probably look fine if you decided to straighten the curves along the front and sides (think ___/ and \____/ )

Had molds, playing around with different materials to use for the molds.

Zylon came in a roll that was 5' wide, cost was $37/yard, and I don't think a full yard went into this set of armor. Main cost was the resin and mold building. I'd say overall cost was under $300 for the set of armor, and a lot of that cost could be cut for future sets of armor.

Mr. Self Destruct got some shiny new armor:

That was about what I was expecting, though Frostbite had a lot more control of the middle of the fight than I thought it would. More weapon HP and I might have won it.

Not too much news. I updated the website for the first time in quite a while. I'm making composite top armor for Mr. Self Destruct. The material is called "Ballistic Zylon" and is about twice as strong as commercial grade Kevlar.

There's no question about me entering, it's whether I use one of the bots I've already shown or come up with something new that I'm trying to choose between. I've got a couple of the showcased LW's that I'm very fond of.

I should decide whether or not I'm going to build something new for this soon.

The "shove them out of the arena while they're on top of you" thing PMC does may hurt me in the future. Too bad RA2 doesn't have a way of determining which robot's doing the shoving and which is being shoved.

Here's a bunch of the LW's I've made while testing stuff out for BBEANS6. Enjoy. https://gametechmods.com/uploads/files/LWs.rarBots included are Closer, Downward Spiral, Drunk in Public, Fisticuffs, Hellbound, Heresy, L Diablo, Malpractice, Mosh Pit Hero, Omega Omega Tango Alpha, Organ Grinder, Power Mad, Ramsey, Sawz All, Sawz All 2, Seven Year Itch, Slapshot, Stung, Sunburst, The Wretched, Twisted and Voodoo. They've all been showcased in some form in this thread, some are great, some suck.

PMC's ai looks about perfect. Drives/attacks just like it was meant to.

Realized I'd not yet posted in this thread. I'm hoping my entry catches people off guard. I went for something a bit off from my normal weapon setups. Also, Joe, is there anything special I need to do to use the components I won in the game? They don't appear to show up normally, nor when I use the modded components.cfz that shows AI parts. Didn't need them for my entry or I'd have asked sooner.

it spins CCW, so when it's at rest it spins like a normal VS, (ie, upward rotation).

Some new bots, MW and HW. Had to do some non-realistic things to simulate something that can be done realistically on the HW.

#8, gotta support the full body drum bot.

It wouldn't make a good universal rule, as not everyone knows the ins and outs of how to design and build real bots, but I always ask myself if I could build the bot I'm making in the real world with minimal design modification. An extreme example is my bot where the weapon is a vertical drum that covers the entire chassis with only the wheels and supports outside of the drum- I used Eteks attached to disks to simulate the real world setup that would have had the drum riding on a large hollow axle allowing the internals to be connected.
