Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Razer vs Tornado - Fair fight?« on: January 30, 2011, 09:52:40 PM »
Someone brought up a good argument a while back and I would like to repeat it. Tornado broke no rules, and there cage was an interesting idea. It kept the match far more interesting (most of razer's matches consist of razer getting under the opponent and crushing them. And then it ends. With tornadoes' cage the match was far more entertaining.

Chatterbox / Re: Dreams« on: January 30, 2011, 06:02:38 PM »Dreams always occur, regardless of whether you're aware of them or not. I think what might be the case is that you're not remembering anything that happens. If something is not remembered by anyone and had no events or repercussions tied to its existence, then did it really exist? :P 766
DSL TC Showcases / Re: HurricaneAndrew's DSL Showcase« on: January 30, 2011, 04:09:59 AM »And flail sledgehammers aren't useless, are they? They don't score ludicrous damage like flail razors, but surely they would be no worse than static hammers? Flail sledge hammers weigh more than static ones, don't offer as good protection and also greatly increase spin-up time. 767
DSL TC Showcases / Re: HurricaneAndrew's DSL Showcase« on: January 28, 2011, 06:17:46 PM »
Hmmm.... sledges on flails are useless, so mount them statically. Same goes for irons. Also, is it just me or do you have a really convoluted drive setup?

Ehhh... there is a difference between proving weight distribution is more complicated than we thought and disproving that it has anything to do with wedges all together.
I am personally one to believe weight distribution does have some effect on a bot's wedge. 769

The main issue we have here is speculation. Neither of us actually know how much force a bullet can impart (depends on the bullet I would imagine).
I would argue a bullet could push someone's head forward depending on the gun and bullet type. EDIT: Frezal's video is good enough for me. 774
Chatterbox / Re: Kennedy Assassination Conspiracies« on: January 23, 2011, 11:05:39 PM »
But we are only talking about someone's head being pushed forward. When you fire a gun, you feel the recoil. What is to stop this bullet from entering JFK's head, shifting the center of gravity so that the head would flop forwards if left on its own, and then disabling the brain so that the head goes limp?
The necessary force to shift someone's head forward shouldn't need to be all that much. 775
Chatterbox / Re: Kennedy Assassination Conspiracies« on: January 23, 2011, 10:46:52 PM »Mythbusters also disproved it, albeit on a larger scale. That extreme throwback action from the opponents you see from the movies when they're hit by buckshot or .357 rounds - they're fake. Even a deer slug can't make them budge. Mythbuster disproved the idea that a bullet can throw a whole person back with a bullet. They make no comment on whether a head could be blown forward or not. If you could sight some sort of head-specific proof it would be ideal (not that I don't trust your physics teacher :P). 776
Chatterbox / Re: Kennedy Assassination Conspiracies« on: January 23, 2011, 10:36:45 PM »A bullet's momentum is not enough to send his head forward. Your evidence? Not necessarily saying you are wrong. 777

It is like having a VS weapon pass through your chassis. That would also be cheating because it give you more HP than you actually deserve. I don't see how it is cheating in the least. I don't want to spam Vertigo's showcase, so I will leave it there. 780

IMO, all teams should be randomized, and all RA2TC 1 teams abandoned. That way it is more fair.
(My apologies if this was already how it was going to be and I just misread). |
