That chassis is 130 bucks with no weapons, electronics, or even motors.
Weta is 150 bucks same thing.
A good class to start out in is hobbyweight, you can get drills from Harbor Freight dirt cheap, with a coupon, I can get two drills plus batteries for 30 bucks. With skillful handiwork, you can also build much of your bot from UHMW cutting boards from the Dollar Tree. From same cutting boards, you could also fashion your own hubs, and bolt on Colson wheels, nice, durable, wheels for a good price. For the ESC a Scorpion XL could work wonders for you. For a Radio, if you want to go bottom of the barrel, the HK-T6A from HobbyKing should get the job done. Adding that all up, it will come to about 180 dollars, all from scratch, a far cry from any of the "kits" offers.

I hate to be a soil sport to SKBT, but to build the Trilobite would be nearly, if not, 300 dollars, and that's not even including shipping and taxes. It's simply not a good starting point for beginners.

Considering I'm posting this on my laptop at home and not at the hospital should tell you something.
As of today and for some weeks, I am going to be in crutches. During today waiting for the bus, my knee cap twisted out of place, pulled a ligament, and was stuck in pain on the ground for fifteen minutes or so.
I am currently on Vicatain, and suffice it to say, I will not be competing in any tournaments for a lenghthy number of weeks..

WTF dude, how does that even happen? Were you trying to roundhouse kick the bus or something?

Regardless, that sounds straight up nasty. Enjoy the Vicodin. You might as well, becuase it could be the only thing you enjoy in a while. Here's to a speedy recovery, mate.
Your guess is as good as mine, I took a step in the grass and my knee poped out of place, then fell because I could not support my weight and because I was in major pain.
The Vicatain is helping a lot, I'm also taking ibuprofen to ease the swelling. Bathing your self is no fun with out the use of your left leg.
Nither is getting in and out of a car. And I got to walk across the school tomorrow. Fun.

You shouldn't have any future plans for it. It'll get shredded.
Better to die in glory than mold in my room. :gawe:
Anyway, Short Stop and Bionic(The BW) have been registered on Builders Data base.

So current plans at the moment:
AW: Final name has been chosen, the AW will now be Short Stop. All the progress that has been made is that the base plate has been cleaned up a bit.

New BW: I have modified an old RC car, to be ready for combat(AKA removing the plastic shell).
Currently it looks like this:

Needs a metal shell, but it should be ready for the next WAR. Future plans include hobby grade equipment, such as a new radio and ESC.

Hobby Weight idea: Currently in the planning phase, all that I can say right now that it looks strangely like Annihilation. I plan to use two Hyundai drills at 19.2 volts.

There's no way to "fix" it, you need to upgrade.
