Existing Games / Re: Why the Wii is bad, childish and overrated.« on: October 11, 2011, 06:45:38 PM »
Didn't read the thread but felt the need to post.
Wii isn't meant for sim anything, especially something as complicated as racing. From a pure aim standpoint, a computer is the only way to go. Because it has every real sim, while the xbox and ps3 have the point and go arcade racers. Like gt5 and forza. A real sim is iRac- *is shot* 743

Just unlucky. A bot that stays right next to the fence should be easier to OOTA

Just a bit of my-bot propaganda. It KOed Second Sentinel (NAR AI). In the RA2 Tourney Arena.
It is THE best MW SnS I've ever built. The wheels spin it more than fast enough for about half the weight of Technos. They're also durable. And I can't get invertibility with technos. Motor placement protects extenders because they have 8000HP, and pushes them a bit off to the side towards the direction of spin. 750

My friend did the exact same thing. He has long legs and one got caught under the chair infront of him at a baseball stadium. Hate to say it but it was a few years ago and he's still in physical therapy, weekly. His knee was really bad for a while.

Try to shrink the chassis. You have space to save where you can scrunch together the components, and also cut out where the wheels go.
And I see a square extender! GAH!!! BLASPHEMY!!!! :P Square extenders weigh a bunch more but aren't any tougher. If you look closely, the "round" extenders are actually six sided. find the side that the attachments are on and save some weight. 757

Nope. And keep trying on the blacks. Make sure you have a little bit of space around them to work with.

In that specific arena (with the piston flyers) it has invisible, bouncy walls to keep them in and throw them around. And those robots were actually AIed to run by themselves. They are impossible to really control, and online is far too laggy for four heavyweights anyways.
Start a showcase (in the showcase section, of course) and you'll get showered with advice, knowledge, and general overwhelming-ness of info. Just try not to overthink it and build what comes to mind. There are plenty of people to give advice who would love to help :D |
