I hope this thing crashes to the ground in Season 2. That way, I can just go "I TOLD YOU SO" to everyone defending this WWE-ification of Real Steel. Anyone got viewer ratings for the whole season? Apparently the pilot had 1.38 million watching.

Now that the idea's been realised, it's time for Click to possibly refine this for DSL3.

Please give us a video of this robot, or better yet, put it on the BotExchange. I need to see this in action.

If I'm right, then tonight's first bout will include my LW. It'll be the first time one of my robots have fought in over a week. (really regret not building an SHW to tide me over)

Discussion / Re: DSL 3 Beta Improvement Suggestions« on: May 10, 2013, 01:33:43 PM »
Why not just get rid of the caster from the original game permanently? I've never seen it in actual combat bots, only those lame kit things you used to get in the magazines.
EDIT: Also, omni/mecanum wheels if possible. 729

IIRC someone (maybe Serge?) said he once got more than 4 robots in a battle but it lagged a lot.

Damn, Komodo got violated to say the least. It could win though after taking off two wheels.

(yes, I may have told a lie in the original post) I might make a copy of it with ant batteries for personal use, but for now I'll just use 4/5 Battlepacks instead. BTW, I will swap the weapon motors to TWM3R's provided I can make some room on the baseplate. 735

A lot of empty space. :/ Should try and structure your robot's body around what you plan to do with it. Aswell as the other advice posted, it's well worth putting the razors on pistons and if that is Steel 10mm like I think it is, you don't need that tough of an armor unless you're building an SHW or are using a small chassis.

I know Servos don't need batteries, but I've never heard of spin motors without them.
Also, instead of a Mace, could 2 razors work any better? 737

Got 30 kilos to spare with 5mm steel rather than the old 10mm steel. Here's the current setup:
![]() Should I add another battery, add spike strips to the top or find a way to protect the rear end? Oh yeah, internals: ![]() Incase anyone's wondering, the Battlepacks are in there for quick, immediate power whilst the Long/Fail batteries are for endurance. Thanks to the skirt hinge, when flipped the plate collapses and becomes flush with the chassis meaning almost nothing can get underneath. 738
