Just got back from the local Mini Maker Faire, I got to see some big ass hobby rocket engines get fired up, a replica 1920s hay bailing machine, and some guys showed up with some huge ass sumo bots....I didn't even know they did robot sumo that big, but they had one there that was at least a few hundred pounds. Just a simple four wheeled wedge (about the size of your average middleweight), was really cool, and was for sale (105 is a bit too much though.) Should have brought my camera...

Sylandro you need to learn to build to a good standard before the other guys on here will take anything you do seriously. In the eyes of many here you have no credibility hosting tournaments or making mods if you don't know how to build good robots first or know how to AI and other such things. Its good that you are enthusiastic and want to be active but there are things you need to know how to do, and show that you can do before you should be doing stuff like this. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you or anyone else what to do or how to do it, I'm just letting you know most of the guys on here won't take you seriously unless you show a certain level of robot building knowledge/ability. I think you could be a great member in time but you have to go through the learning process like anyone before you can do this stuff.
Don't forget maturing mentally and stop being dumb to everyone on the forum...

I can't see how that would be worth the effort. Surely a proper flipper would work a lot better in real life.
The 30 pound sportsmans class is about having fun and experimenting with designs, not beating everybody.
I'm not saying people shouldn't, just I can't see why they would when it wouldn't really work.
Because not everybody wants to build a boring, generic wedge with a long metal plate that lifts up and down,  that's almost as bad as building another 3 lb Last Rights. Sorry but not everybody involved in competitive robotics is a total tryhard like you are.
