Antidisestablishmentarianism is the longest non-coined non-technical word, so it would be the most qualified.

Chatterbox / Re: Fears« on: March 26, 2011, 01:29:18 PM »But is there anything rational about fearing death? Perhaps once you reached the age of 80 there is no reason to fear death, but it is perfectly rational to fear death (or things that will cause death) when you are only 20 or 30 years old. This is because you haven't enjoyed very much of your expected lifespan. 726
Chatterbox / Re: Fears« on: March 26, 2011, 12:44:11 PM »Is there even anything like a rational fear ? A fear of anything that could easily kill you is a rational fear. It isn't necessary, but it is rational nonetheless. 727

Tournament Archives / Re: Clash Cubes IV - Splash, Brackets & Videos« on: March 07, 2011, 11:41:06 PM »Isn't the purpose of having rules to make sure that nothing violates them in part or as a whole? That is how I always interpreted them as, however this discussion made me reconsider this in the context of certain rules (i.e the slot rule and the cube rule). 734
Tournament Archives / Re: Clash Cubes IV - Splash, Brackets & Videos« on: March 07, 2011, 07:42:50 PM »Although nothing is in the portion of the chassis that is cut by the disk, in order for the bot to work, the portion being cut by the disc would have to be removed, therefore changing the shape of the chassis from a cube to a rectangular prism The issue I see with this reasoning is the idea that if a part is intersected by something moving, that part which is intersected must be actually considered removed when dealing with the other rules. This is an assumption being made on your part, the way I see a bot could just as easily be "reset" each time another rule is looked at, thus one "modification" in order to comply with one rule doesn't have to be carried over to the other rules. 735

There is a problem here...
One of you could simply whip up a SS with an astroflight or some other weak weapon motor and then spam weapons like there is no tomorrow. |
