Chacarron Macarron
Ladies and gentlemen and frezal of Gametechmods, I have just found what is without a doubt the single GREATEST PIECE OF MUSIC EVER COMPOSED. The lyrics themselves are poetry in its purest form. Upon listening for the first time, a tear came to my eye. Enjoy:

It would be cool for you to start a showcase.
Wow, I don't think I've made any Grammar errors today.
You switched tenses mid-sentence, and "grammar" shouldn't be capitalized :P

@ 090901: Exactly. I <3 that pic.
@ SAGE: YOU WERE NEVER ABOUT TO WIN. I WAS GOING TO TAKE YOU OUT TO THE WOODSHED AND BEAT YOU WITH A FIREAXE. LET US CONTINUE THIS IN YOUR SHOWCASE SO WE DON'T SCARE THE LOCALS.

MikeNCR deserves it too. He's been a member of GTM's since '04.
Crappy logic. By that line of thinking I should be veteran too for being an official forum member or something.
I don't see how that logic is crappy. If someone's been around the RA2 community for a while (let's arbitrarily say five years) and has been an active/contributing member for most of that time, they've been around long enough to be considered a veteran in my eyes. So, if you've been around for that long then yes, you should be a vet as well. The problem here is few people here agree on what the criteria for a veteran is. I'm getting the sense that quite a few people view building skill as the main factor in determining veteranship, but I disagree with this. toAst and frezal from what I've seen aren't nearly as skilled builders as Virus Bomb, Pwnator and The Ounce and I've never even seen Serge build a bot. But why do we consider them vets? Because they've been around the community for a long, long time. Building skill should be the main factor in the Advanced User group, but tenure definitely defines a vet.

Am I the only one that got Serge's joke?

Problem is, there are increasingly few of us who think that way.
There are about 40 weapons, and quite a few of you DSLfags only use 2. Yes, 2 weapons. I even have a quote.
Razor tips, beater bars, light teeth, the occasional 50, 60 and 70 kg hammers... and I'm out. I count six there :O I'm still not sure if you prefer DSL, Stock, or hate everything and everyone.

Jonzu, when you deserve to get nominated, you will get nominated.

And GK, would it be alright if you moved the snappers' starting positions back a little bit on my bot? Kinda halfway between where they are at the minute and horizontal, I think? S'just I can't actually update it myself without my laptop.
Oh, one more thing G.K, the next time you leave your house pick me up a jug of milk. Thanks :P On the topic of the videos: you're over-editing them IMO. There were match defining moments in your match with Somebody the you cut out. Please, unless the bots just circle one another, just show the entire match. It saves you editing time and it dosen't make me feel like I'm watching a highlight package :3

Since ian got vet status, I think MikeNCR deserves it too. He's been a member of GTM's since '04. And Urjak, The Ounce, 123STW, amd Virus Bomb for AU's. Personally I think RObO and Scrap deserve it as well.
If that's the case, you have to include Jack Daniels too.

Looks cool enough, but I don't like it. I tried something similar and did not get great results sans wedges. Stock is still the best, DSL is corrupt so idk what youre talking about...
Problem is, there are increasingly few of us who think that way.

Mario Kart: Double Dash for GCN > MK for the Wii, SSB Melee > SSB Brawl, and the N64 Zelda titles are still the best IMO. Also, I wouldn't even consider putting the New Super Mario Bros. in the same thought as "great." It's a glorified 2-d sidescroller taken from a handheld system and shoehorned to fit a console.
I was an avid Nintendo guy until the Wii came out. I loved my Gamecube, so I was pumped for the release of the Wii. Getting the thing and playing it was a bitter, bitter dissapointment. The way I see it, the Wii was Nintendo once again looking ahead in the gaming industry. It saw Microsoft and Sony engaging it in a dogfight over the niche market of gamers, and it saw Xbox and Playstation's success. The Wii was never intended to please the following that Nintendo had worked so hard to build, it was never intended for the market that it had all but created - Nintendo saw a shrinking share of the marketplace and designed and marketed to a completely new one: the "casual" gamer. Consequently, by alienating the gaming faithful that grew up on Pokemon and the Mario Bros, they made their console the single most successful one on the marketplace with stuff like Wii Fit.
I don't fault Nintendo, but "gamers" like the Xbox and PS3 better by design. We weren't the Wii's target consumer group.

Anything to revitalize Stock (though it's getting better recently) >.>
Cool looking bot, but I've never been too fond of pokers. And I have no idea what the name on the splash says xD

I'm fighting Roboshark AGAIN?
Fudge. Hey, I faced Doomkiller 3 times in CC3 and he won the first time, but I took the 2nd and 3rd fights. Just because I've beat you once already dosen't mean I'll beat you twice xD Oh and GK, WC:V can't self-right (as you saw), so could you just set the bindings to invertible:true? Thanks. And great pace with the videos :O

Inf got really lucky there. If BW had gone for the spinner without the castor armour, I would have won. Easily.
But hey, thats how tourneys are. It happened to him in BBEANS, so I can't really complain xD And Ribbs vs Click was one of a match :O

And what I'm asking is why a large number of people chose that one particular bot as the one that they expected to do well
or looked forward to seeing above all other competitors. I know exactly what "anticipated" means, I know exactly what the award is for - you can stop telling me stuff I already know and have known for years. All that I want to know is peoples reasoning. I've posted my reasons for my choice and I'd like the community to do the same, as I find it odd that one particular bot has a large portion of the vote. So, my friends, please share with me why you were looking forward to seeing your choice so much. dont criticize others for there choices. Why can't I? Is being critical offending anyone? If it is, I apologize for any grief or anger I may have caused and I hold no ill feelings towards anyone I am critical of whatsoever. I'm sorry. But do not tell me I can't share my opinion. Now, please share your thoughts with me on the awards :)

No, I think that everybody else is forgetting the meaning of "anticipated."
To me, I have absolutely no idea how so many people could get the most excited about an unconventional bot from a builder with absolutely no track record in tournaments that everybody with half a brain knew was going to fail. It makes no sense! If I'm reading down a list of entrants, I want to see what Click is going to build, what Naryar is going to build, what MikeNCR is going to build; the tournament heavyweights per say.
All I want to know is the reasoning for people anticipating FG by such an overwhelming margin.

You too? I was so scared that I had to go straight A's for the last four years of high school D:
Also: way to perpetuate the A's-or-death asian stereotype :P

I like The Tragically Hip myself, but Rush is also up there. Also, Canada apologizes for Justin Beiber - we thought it might be funny but it turned into something much, much more evil than we ever imagined. Michael Buble, while I'm not a huge fan of his music, is just an awesime guy in general.
As for movies, Jim Carrey, Mike Myers and Seth Rogen seem to be pretty popular with some people. William Shatner's not only Canadian - he's french Canadian :O
Oh, and Keanu Reeves did that whole Matrix thing which was pretty kick-ass.
