Freezie, followed by SM or SKBT? I hate you so much  :P
I've got GK followed by Reier or Sage; quit your complaining :P
Sage, eh? I just got stomped by him in the winners bracket, man
If I do face Sage I'm worried. He's got the same the same speed and better flanking ability. But, I may have a better wedge. You never know.
Too right you should fear him- A-Bomb suffered a very Rasputinian defeat at his hands. Outwedged, thrown around, wheelguards broken, wheels chopped off, set on fire, control board destroyed, before eventually being sliced up and dumped out of the arena   =/

One of these days I'll get my revenge, though- maybe through sneaking into his house at night and shaving half his beard off

This reminds me of the time that FOTEPX posted the double sided snappers lolol

Wait, you actually REMEMBER that!?

Dang, you Scottish people...

You got good memories. Guess all the lager just makes you 'normal', eh?
Fotep? You do know that Paddy is Irish, right?   :approve:

On a side note, there's a little something I've also been meaning to show-

Voila! It's an improved Cassius II rep, changed considerably from the Replica Wars original. Most obvious difference, it's got more sloped and angled bodywork, more closely refined to look like the original robot.
At the same time, it functions more like the real thing in a way, too- for starters, I removed that daft-looking skirt hinge from the front wedge, replacing it with a tiny plastic edge along the front wedge (look closely), and I made the piston at the back longer.

As demonstrated in the screen below of the rep giving the Judge some Air-time, the flip-up paddle no longer uses those fragile angle connectors (thus stays in one piece for much longer), and the drive wheels have been raised from the back, giving the illusion of air suspension-

And that's about it, with these new changes coming together to massively improve it in terms of both looks and fighting capabilities. Comments?

Here's a trick I use to find the the edges without the unattractive edge lines showing up in the final product.

In the painting section of the bot lab, I paint each side of the bot a different colour so that I can tell them apart (don't use black, you can add it later if you need it), and then cover the entire chassis with dark edges (2 or 3 clicks) and export the skin.  When I open the file, it looks like this (zoomed in 8x):

(Image removed from quote.)

The little squares in each corner will be noticeably darker (I've darkened them further on the green one for clarity).  Those little squares represent the very edge of what will show up on the actual robot.  You can connect them together to make one big rectangle and voila, you have the exactly right sized canvas to work with - the excess dark edge outside this rectangle will not show up on your bot.

If you're working with a non-rectangular side, you'll have to mess around a little to figure out exactly where the bounds are, but the dark edges will get you pretty close.

Anyways, just keep that for future ref.  I'd be glad to take a look at Beast of Bodmin, if you don't mind handing over your baby.
OK then, I'll give it over later today, along with a "clean" skin.

well then you didnt do what I said at all..

If you duplicate and BFE you will only effect the desired replica, not any others
Well, it was some time ago.

Anyway, I'll give it a try.

it would bee easier to duplicate the existing Batteries and Motors > Text edit them > BFE txt file name swap..

1 minute job tops..
I did do that for the RADs that the original rep uses, but it has side effects on other reps- for instance, T-Minus can now only drive in circles, and El Diablo drives around way too quickly. Therefore, I thought that once I'd installed the new motors on Chaos 2, I'd reset the RADS to their old values, making the old reps fightable again.

Just throwing my weight in there... I can never be too sure.
It's OK. I know how it feels, particularly within all those roleplay threads I've taken part in.

Good point.

Just been watching the Robot Wars Extreme Annihilator on Dave  :D
As did I, stupid bots teaming up against hypno-disk.
They should have accepted their collective fates and just let hypno-disk pwn them all!!!
Although admittedly, I was a bit more surprised about Thermidor II going out in Round 1, and Arnold A Terminegger, as interesting a design as it is, surviving for as long as it did.
They called it "The Luckiest Robot on Robot Wars", but I'm inclined to disagree- that honour belongs to Spikasaurus-, or as I like to call it, the lucky smegger.

Thought I'd bring my old thread back from the dead with this little query- I'm working on an internal rebuild of the Chaos 2 replica (IE. Swapping out the batteries and motors for more powerful ones), but I've encountered a problem in the fact that when I remove the side panels to do so, I can't put them back on due to intersecting components.

If there's anyone who can BFE them back on once I've put the stronger motors and things into the robot, that'd be great.

Right, so do anything in your power to avoid gettin one.
Well, if I know that it's never going to be removed without assistance, I might as well get myself suspended for a little while, therefore resetting the Watch-O-Metre. A-like so...

ACAMS, I'm calling you out.
