#1 won me over when I noticed that the pole spikes emerge from perfect little holes in the front of the bot. <3 <3 <3 (yeah, I dig little details)

Bot Submitted.
It is based off a Hammer from the game Guild Wars. Though... it's a Rammer. It's a Rammer Hammer.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: russian roulette's revolvers« on: August 21, 2011, 10:45:44 AM »you totally should send that for BoF. It is a Heavyweight. Feedback on the bot: Looks cool. I like how you skinned the flipper. But, why is the bot skinned so plainly? I think it could look much better in that dept. 708
DSL TC Showcases / Re: JD's DSL Showcase« on: August 21, 2011, 09:28:15 AM »It would look even better if the wheels were further up, just behind the Tazbot wedges. Hmmm. I might play with the setup some more. I wouldn't mind ditching the shiny hubs in favor of wheels that look more realistic as well. As for the weapon, I think the drum is on par with IRL drums. The razors might be pushing it a bit though. I am not entirely happy with the Razors attached there, might change it around or scrap it. Thanks for the feedback! 709

I thought those Vlad spikes were static before. Yeah This was going to be my Battlebots 2 entry. Missed signups by a few hours . I am aiming to enter it into BB3 hopefully. ![]() 712
DSL TC Showcases / Re: R0B0SH4RK's DSL Showcase« on: August 19, 2011, 02:51:27 PM »I love the look of the first one (and second one :P), but the weapon choice is sort of non-IRL IMO. Youuuuuu be quiet. You're just going to talk him into making it more efficient and powerful.

Tournament Archives / Re: Ironbot SBV« on: August 18, 2011, 04:20:48 AM »This Fire: excuse me jack but wtf is this mess This Fire - It could beat a few of the rammers...? Yeah, not sure what this does. Nary made me lol My bot truly is a mess. I waited until the last minute with a concept in mind for the tourney... but the concept didn't work out well at all I anticipated this would be a Rammer-fest, so I wanted to build a bot that would slice through the underbelly of opponents via wedge. When it was coming down to deadline time, I had a semi-functional bot built with a ton of extra weight to play with. The wedge was too shallow for me to pack anything in front for defense, so it is horribly naked. In the end I pushed it to the weight limit with a couple of Axes and whatnot. With the AI, the 4HPZ drive should charge the opponent as if it were a rammer. If the wedge is successful, the ride up and over should do plenty of damage to the opponents wheels (which was the goal). But yeah... its a mess. XD 717
Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Photoshop help?« on: August 18, 2011, 04:01:03 AM »
Somewhere in Photoshop there should be a setting that allows you to see the layers of the image. You are probably doing a lasso in a layer that doesn't have anything to cut out. Once you find the layers, click on the base layer "background" and then use the lasso. It should cut/copy from there instead of an empty layer.
My version of PS is much older, so I can't really give you step-by-step. But once you figure out how to manipulate the image in layers things will work out better. 718

Off-Topic Discussion / Combat Robots on Netflix.« on: August 17, 2011, 04:57:27 PM »
So... I was browsing through the Netflix DVD catalog and found this:
http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Metal_Munching_Maniacs_Robot_Assault/70002440?trkid=496624 Totally made me "Squeeeeeeeeeee!" Now, the star rating from users isn't very high for this DVD, but it's combat robotics I will take anything. It just came in the mail today. I hope to watch it later this evening... (or some of it. It is over 2 hours long!) Report on it to come later. :D 720
