Well the first thing you absolutely want to do is close out of as many programs you can afford to. I'm assuming you've done that.
In Fraps, under the "Movies" tab, there's an otpion to capture videos Full Size or Half Size. Half size takes up less RAM, naturally. Don't record sound - you're just going to dub music over it afterwards, so might as well save bandwidth
There are a lot of tasks that run even when they're not open. Go into Task manager (Ctrl-Shift-Esc) and in the "processes" tab, look for things that you can shut off. DON"T SHUT OFF ANYTHING UNLESS YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU KNOW WHAT IT DOES. Because many of them are essential processes. However there are some obvious ones like Steam, Skype, and itunes that run in the background and are just memory sinks.
Additionally, your antivirus program probably has an option to go "Sleep Mode" or "Silent Mode" for a specified amount of time. Set it for an hour or so, and just to be safe, make sure it turns back on when you're done.

No, but he assured me it was easy - the robot is a modified Biohazard R/C.

The grey is fine, it's pretty rare that that exact shade will come up in a robot. White is more common so I don't recommend it.

Resolution is controlled by a file called "RA2.cfg." Grab it from a clean copy of RA2 and it should revert to default.

I'm only bringing it up, because you kept going "hey guys hey guys hey guys, notice my robot!" even after one person did, which gets annoying. I thought it would be helpful to explain why nobody was talking about your bot, because there were good reasons for it.

Well there ya go - you could have skinned , you didn't. I'm on my mmobile so I cant go hunting for the pictures of the original that you couldn't be bothered to supply. Are you starting to understand why you didn't exactly set yourself up to get showered with paise?

Apart from el Chickenado? Thank you for the comment by the way.
ok, time for doctor Cox mode. JD, If people had anything to say, they would. But, Eileen, if it re-e-eally is that important to you, decent job considering your level of technique has stayed the same, and that it on balance looks like a newbie's build. Have a pat on the back, Marissa.

That's cool HB, thanks for sharing. I only asked because the way you phrased it is how I'd phrase it if I wanted people to ask.
Anyways, anything over 15 teams is cake, so you're aces in my book. I have to say I was leery about the grunge motif, always preferred "mint-condition" robots, but these battle-damaged robots & arenas look really, really great.
Dalek, get better ok? You've been one of my inspirations for the longest time.

That sucks. What sort of bad news was it, if that's not too personal?

Is there an AI for for the Linear Actuator or Servo piston? To refresh your memory, I'm referring to these two motors, which are useless in battle, but helpful for replicas... I'm trying to AI Indefatigable, a bot with a forklift that went straight up, but didn't immediately drop its forks back down. I've tried using THz.py and Frenzy, but it just raises them once with a small Havok explosion, then never drops them back down. So, has anyone ever dabbled in these obscure components?

What happens if you don't get permission from the teams to include their bots?

i ate a sleeve of dog cookies once. the wrapper was peeled back so i didn't see the picture of the dog on it. they were terrible, but not bad for dog food
A sleeve? As in, the first one didn't tip you off, and you kept eating? I was the ****ing incompetent bastard one time - I left bread in a cabinet, thinking that a plastic shopping bag would be able to seal it.

killer my man :)
so i just need to throw in an all black .tga then? does it have to be a specific size so as to not crash the game like some decals do?
Keep the dimensions thw same as the original just to be safe. Also, don't use black, use a color that's unlikely to appear on your robot, like the grey of he stock background. If you use blaxk, you'll end up cropping part of your robot when you try to get rid of the background
