Try using a thinner bar (20) with the same length (I assume that's a 30?) and use angled shell for the ends. Test if they still go through the wheels.

It's better if you have a more powerful weapon motor instead of 4WD so you can throw bots further. Also, the half sheets prevent the weapons from gut-ripping the opponent. :P
