Protip (or more like lazytip): If you only want to change the name of the skin .bmp, you can simply open the .gmf in Notepad++ (regular Notepad won't work), find the file name (it will be easily recognizable as the only plain English in a sea of garble) and change it. As long as the new file name is the same number of letters long as the old one, it will work. No need to decompile and recompile!

Sage's complete download ought to work, especially if stock works. That indicates it is a problem with the installation and not anything to do with your computer. Did you download it, leave it alone, and run it, or did you paste it over your non-working DSL in Program Files?

Every time
It only happens sometimes
Make up your mind! RA2 can crash on bootup if you've been doing some modding and messed something up. Since it's any version it's probably not that though. The only other time I've had it crash on bootup is when I accidentally open multiple RA2's at once. This happened all too frequently when my mouse started going on the fritz and double-clicking when I wanted to single-click.

You guys are making this way more complicated than it needs to be. First of all, it's ALREADY BEEN DONE when Ianh05 released his AW chassis. Second of all, there's no need to make a whole subforum with chassis moderators and whatnot, or even an official pack. If you come up with a good generic chassis that can be used in other designs, just post it on the bot exchange. If it's useful, people will download it. And thirdly, the idea that posting generic empty chassises will somehow reduce bot diversity or eliminate skill from bot building is mostly reactionary nonsense. Very few bots can actually use the same chassis efficiently, at least in stock. I don't think I've ever been able to re-use a chassis in stock. And those bots that CAN re-use the same chassis efficiently are always either inherently generic anyway (like the Pyscolone popup) or the ones with a pint-sized battery box and everything else external. 99% of the skill involved is in all that external stuff, not designing the battery box.

Hmmm if Click starts the bots in the position that matches the semifinal, then I won't start next to Grinding Noise. Good good good... [/s] I randomized the order of bots. They will go in the order I listed them before: Triceratops - Grinding Noise - ReFlection - Your Best Frenemy

Though I am not happy with Aerodactyl being slower than Bastiodon. Srsly.
Somebody must have set us up the trick room. Also that Aerodactyl looks totally awesome in action. It's like a flying Warhead with no spinner. I take back what I said about the Klinks and Cryogonal; that is the most dangerous bot here. Hopefully Sandslash's spikes can withstand it...

also, both of the BeetleBros. are in the finals!
No, only one of them is, only Firebeetle is in Although a couple more hits from Frag Beetle's claws and Grinding Noise would've been done for! Dang interfering Blood Shed, shoving Grinding Noise further underneath Frag Beetle... Then again without Blood Shed there, Grinding Noise would have come straight at me and I wouldn't have stood a chance.

My entry is named Fierce Irish Coca. See if you guys can figure it out. (It sounds random but there's a good reason for that name.)

Oh man that was close. I didn't expect EFIE to be able to pop Hide out from under the blade. Got a little taste of my own medicine there... A little disappointed with Hide's utter lack of effect against flippers (I was hoping it could chew up the sides and take off the skirts) but a win is a win, I'm not going to complain.

And that's it for the rest of the semifinals! Everyone made it through with barely a scratch? Ounce is gonna be mad, having over twice as much damage as the next most damaged bot... but on the plus side, it's now impossible for him to lose Technical Winner as he is 2 wins ahead of everyone else.
We now have our four finalists: Triceratops vs. Grinding Noise vs. ReFlection vs. Your Best Frenemy
And a note on how awards such as Competitive Jerk work in the rumbles: Because 3 bots are being eliminated no matter what in every fight now, the fight to the death unfairly biases the Competitive Jerk award as bots can now eliminate opponents without going through all their spares. Therefore, eliminations in the semifinals and final only count for Competitive Jerk if the bot being eliminated would have still been eliminated in the 30-second elimination format. So if you KO a bot with a spare control board, it doesn't count for CJ. But if you KO a bot without a spare, then it does. Wins in the semifinals and final still count for Technical Winner. And although it is highly unlikely, the Black Knight award can still be claimed if a bot survives the semifinals or finals with more than 59% damage. (A note on this award: Both Scrap Daddy and Virus Bomb survived with 59% damage, which I've neglected to put on the results page. Virus Bomb actually had slightly more damage if you don't round to the nearest percent (59.016% vs. 58.868%) but since I've had Scrap listed as the winner for so long, and since the difference is so small, I'm making it a tie.)

Click built 6 ?!?!? It looks so n00by though
I was going for IRL style and it fights quite well in that regard. Also I was looking for an excuse to use extenders for a mini-drum weapon. I think that's the least votes I've ever gotten in BOTM though. Thank you J so I didn't get 0 votes! And #3 was Kurt Wylde??? I thought for sure it had to be J.

BUT I'M THE ONLY BOT TO NEVER LOSE A WHEEL! ...I think?
hey, i still had a CB left over! why am i out?? The fight to the death is to the death... spares only carry over to the finals, they don't apply to bots losing at this point. Ideally there would be one fight to the death once there are 4 or less bots left, but I realized it would take way too long to eliminate that many bots in the 30 second elimination rounds. Hence plan B. If I do any future Ironbots, I think I will increase the match time from 30 seconds to 45 seconds, then 1 minute, etc. as the tournament goes on, in order to hasten the rate of elimination in the later stages. I did say I might do some extra fights with bots that still had enough left to survive the fight to the death but didn't win. Also, Triceratops, X-Press, Voulez-Vous, Blood Shed, Your Best Frenemy, Grinding Noise, and This Fire haven't lost any wheels.

Well that went as expected. At least I got lucky in the third round. I think Calm-Assertive was always going to win though, regardless of whether me or Ounce won. It seems more stable than Quark-Nova and will possibly hit under the discs. After that, Omega 3 could possibly give it trouble... but it's clear sailing from there. I call Urjak as the champion.
What music are you using for the fights?

Semifinal 1 is up! (ReFlection vs. The Beast vs. One Way Ticket vs. Trollestia 2) I only got one semifinal match filmed because I got bogged down with a bunch of preparation work, not to mention a bunch of real life stuff I was doing as well. It was ridiculously havoky with the Python-based component removal I was using for the elimination rounds, so I had to go in the bot lab and manually remove all the broken components. (I wrote a script that makes all the non-broken components invisible so I could easily see which ones needed to be removed.) The next post I make should finish up the semifinals. Also, this match is worth watching if for no other reason than Firebeetle finally got the Ironbot "theme song" in a playable state. (It's not technically finished but he was able to make a loop of what was done so far.) FB has been working really hard on this music and it shows.

I was wondering how long until someone did that. Nice work. Somehow I get the feeling it's not as fearsome as its namesake though... those motors and tribars look pretty vulnerable. Also, a true AC would use 36 maces.

Awesome overhead throw out of the arena is awesome. Too bad a real opponent won't sit still so nicely for you to grab them...

Oh yeah. *MATERIAL_FALLOFF Other should be *MATERIAL_FALLOFF In. Shouldn't cause compilation errors so it may not be your main problem, but I've had arenas crash before because of that.

OK WTF, why did I have to be put against him?!
Because you're the most feared bot so you get last choice of opponent. If it's any comfort, I'm as unhappy about facing you as you are about me. :P In all seriousness I think Quark-Nova will win. Hmm... perhaps it was a bad idea to post my bot and hype up the Beta components.
