You should only count the parimeter of the bot if you are thinking of shrinking a chassis without a wedge.
Sorry, I don't get you. But if the chassis is question is very tall or thin, the shrunk chassis will have a larger area, if it is very short or wide, the shrunk chassis will have a smaller area.
